The animal shelter allows two holds per dog, and we had the second hold on this little guy. The people who had the first hold did not show up so after our one hour visit, we knew he was for us and took him home. Small dogs get swooped up at the animal shelter, and there were people waiting in hopes that we wouldn't take him.
When he arrived at his new house, he immediately made himself at home.
Bio: We met his original owner who gave him to the pound. See Stewie's diary for the full story.
Forums Motto: Smalls in size. Big in personality.
Bad Habits: He barks a lot, and he likes to hump various pillows.
Breed: Latest theory: dachshund/corgi/chi mix.
Some day he will be DNA tested.
I was tagged by my pals Maggie, Cassie, Yippy, and Lyle.

Well, we had just arrived at the dog park, and I ran into a pack of English Bulldogs. Mom called me, and as I came out, this lady comes up and asks, "Who's dog is this?" She was referring to me. My mom says that I'm hers. Then the lady asked where she got me. Mom said she got me at the pound. "This dog used to be mine," the lady says. "His name was Munchkin. I took him to the pound."
My mom was shocked because my name at the pound was "Munchkin." She told the lady this, and the lady was ecstatic. This lady was my first momma!!!
She found me loose on the street and took care of me for six months. Apparently she couldn't handle me because I was too crazy with energy, and she couldn't house train me. So she took me to the pound, but she said she cried about it.
She was so happy to see me again. She picked me up and hugged and hugged me. I remembered her and gave her lots of kisses. She was so thankful that I found a forever home. She hung out with us the whole time at the dog park saying over and over again how happy she was and telling my mom not to worry about her wanting me again.
Mom says she was a little much. She was a very loud talker and kept repeating herself. Mom was unable to have a conversation with anybody else, namely Primo's dad Tim. Yep Primo saw her too.
She had a good heart though, and was just so excited to see me. She kept picking me up and giving me love. When she started to leave the park, I followed her. I wouldn't come to mom when called. When the lady stopped, I would sit and look up at her. Mom had to pick me up so my first mom could leave. I squirmed to get out of mom's arms and watched the lady leave. After the lady left the gate (fenced park), mom put me down. I immediately started running full speed to the gate which was quite a ways away. Mom ran after me and picked me up at the gate. We had to leave after that. I have a one track mind.
Mom was very saddened by my behavior and almost cried. I'm sorry mom, but I loved my first momma too...
Yesterday, I went to the dog park with my new family. They decided to let me off the leash because they wanted to trust me. I loved it! I ran up to every doggie, wanting to sniff and play. I was running around and went to the edge of the park where the canyon is. Well, there were so many good smells down there. I couldn't resist.
So I headed down into the canyon with my new mom and dad calling after me. I ignored them. Then I thought they were playing a game so I was running circles around them. I let them get about two feet from me, then I took off. I also rolled in some wonderful stuff. When I finally let mom grab me, she declared how stinky I was. She carried me back to the park and put me on the gentle leader and leash.
I had to stay by my mom's side while Leah got to play around the park. A lot of lady dogs came to visit me though because I smelled so good. That coyote poo cologne is the bomb.
I wonder if mom will ever let me off the leash at the dog park again......
