Mom's not sure what happened and it all was so quick she didn't have time for a heart attack. We were on our way to the park when a neighbor and their beagle were walking past and all of a sudden, the leash just slipped from around my neck and FELL COMPLETELY OFF. Luckily, I didn't go far b/c all I was interested in was smelling my new friend. Mom calmly walked over to us, holding Miss Frankie with one hand and quickly grabbed me around the collar and hooked me back up. The timing was right b/c the chubby beagle all of a sudden felt threatened or something and then let out a low growl which then prompted me to start barking. Mom pulled me away and we walked off the park, like it never happened. She certainly was thankful the other dog was there, otherwise, I probably would have run off and she would have been chasing me for hours since I love to make a game of it!! To defend myself, I have been listening so much better though, and it's been a long time since I've run off! All I need is a ball to chase and I'm good for hours. Too bad Daddy can't last as long as I can!
