We saw Zachy at the pet store in the old Naugatuck Valley Mall in CT, he was so feisty & fluffy & on clearance! Too cute to pass up!

Zach was one of a kind, the feistiest little booger I’ve ever seen but still so friendly…he knew exactly what he wanted and wasn’t afraid to let you know if you were bothering him. He was always dirty & stinky, even if he had a bath earlier that day. And he always had sticks & leaves stuck in his fur! He was also a very intelligent dog, would do almost anything you asked if you waved food in front of him!! Sadly, Zach started having serious health problems & he started peeing all over the house. Every time we’d take him to the vet, they’d say it’s just because he was getting old. Christmas Eve of 2003, he started acting really funny so we took him to the vet and it turned out he had kidney failure and prostate cancer. Because the vet said his condition was deteriorating, we were faced with the very hard decision to have him put to sleep. We were going to say our goodbyes to him the day after Christmas but the vet called and said he hadn’t made it through the night. He died 2 days after his 13th birthday. I will always miss that grumpy old man terribly; he was the first dog I was close to.
