Looking for critters outside and digging
other dogs trespassing, our goats, loud noises
apples, and many other things...
around our farm
Chutney can jump straight up in the air from a standing position about five feet
We went to the pound to see a dog that was advertised on tv. It ended up being very large, and we saw Kenya(Chutneys now deceased pal) and fell for her. We got Chutney as a companion for Kenya, who had many health problems, and was also learning disabled.
Chutney lives in the mountains of Western North Carolina, and is a happy farm dog. She lives in the house and spends her time patrolling and hunting ground rodents (moles, voles, mice) When not working, Chutney sleeps on moms chest.

Well, here I am finally. It has been a very busy spring and summer. A man came with a big machine and messed up all the dirt in my field. Mom liked it and then moved alot of big rocks and little rocks into a big pile down by the trees just for me! Right away there were chipminks and mice living all over those rocks and I was very busy keeping them in line.
It was no time and plants started to grow in the dirt again. I would walk around checking it out, since it is MY field and mom would make me move and walk in only certain places. She made my field a garden, again, except this time it is very very big with lots of stuff growing everywhere. Some things she pulls out and throws away, and some things she leaves alone. I help and mom shows her teeth.
As the plants get bigger, all of the sudden there are things for me to eat! Little red balls, green strings, and corn. I love corn but I dont get to have it much. Mom says that I can have all the veggies I want, but doesnt share corn much.
So the plants got big and then they got small and now mom says that fall is here and winter is coming. I keep looking for fall but so far I dont know what mom is talking about. If someone was here I would smell them for sure and bark to let mom know. Fall must be hiding somewhere with the chipmunks.
I am going out with mom now. She is taking me to feed my friend Smittys goat. It used to be MY goat but mom gave it to Smitty and Smitty is not home right now so I have to feed the goat. I dont mind but she doesnt share anything.at.all. She gives me a mean look and it makes me feel like biting her but mom says no. Anyway, mom is putting shoes on so that means it is time to go. I will talk more as soon as I can. If anybody finds out how to open the big cold box where the cheese is, let me know.
Bye for now,

Well I have not been looking at my Dogster in a long time. I have been very busy and so has my mom, but she said that tonight I could write on my Dogster to say hi to my friends.
I have been outside alot! I take mom to feed the chickens. Mom finally made the goats go away and I dont mind a bit, even if I got to have milk. They are too much work. I do like my chickens. I make sure that nothing messes with them and when I think something is going on I tell mom right away. When I do this mom shows me her teeth alot, especially one time when I chased away a hawk.
I have been taking mom down the the big place she calls garden. She pushes the dirt around and I help. I like to dig deep holes to make sure there arent any moles or anything. In the winter, I found a bunch of little mice and I ate them right away. Mom did not show her teeth about that, but I like mice anyway.
SO when we are at garden, things that I like come out of the dirt! We have to go down there many times until it is hot outside and then we bring good things to eat up to my house. Mom gives me things called salad, carrots, okra, and watermelon. I get to eat bits of corn off a cob. Everybody watches me do it and they show their teeth and make noises. I dont know what the big deal is.
I better go to sleep now. I have work to do tomorrow. It is going to get wet outside and big sounds come from all over. Mom closes the window and says storm and puts my Thunder Shirt on me. I am glad. It makes me feel better so I can do my job, which is protecting everybody on my farm, especially my mom, but also my chickens. Maybe mom will say bacon soon. I like bacon. Bye for now! CMB

Well, I thought that today was going to be a regular day, but after I took mom down to feed the goats, she made me get into the truck with my other mom and we went moving around. Mom call it driving, or going for a ride, and I dont like it so much. I dont like loud noises, and I dont like sometimes when we stop at a building with strangers and other dogs and someone ends up poking me and sometimes even sticking a finger in my bottom! I dont like that place. I think its called vet. Next time I will not be nice when I feel a stranger touch my bottom!
Anyway, we didnt go to vet today, but we did go to another building. We didnt get out of the truck, but a strangers voice came out af nowhere, and mom talked out the window, and then we moved forward and a stranger gave mom a bag of food! I had some meat, and some cheese, and something called carmel apple empanada. IT was fun. I think mom called it Taco Bell, and she can take me there again as long as nobody tries anything funny...
After we ate, we kept on going, and we went to a place that smelled like wood. There were piles of wood everywhere, and little pieces of wood in piles, and all of a sudden there was all this noice and the back part of my truck was full of all this wood. Mom was showing her teeth and said she was happy to get mulch, and that I would like digging in it once she put it in the flower beds.
I am not sure about this, becasue the flower beds are mine, and I have to make sure I dig up all the moles, and I am not sure about the smell of this mulch stuff. Maybe after I mark it as mine it wont be so bad, but there is alot of it. I will have to drink alot of water....
When we finally got home, I was tired and hungry. Mom gave me some sausage and gravy on my croutons. It was good. The mulch is still in the truck and I guess I will see about it tomorrow. Bye for now... CMB
