Arrival Story: In the Spring of 1993, I found myself on crutches recovering from a hip injury. My father, a neighbor and I were standing out in my front yard, chatting. I saw a small black critter stick its head up above some bushes about 100 yards from the house. The head disappeared and popped up a minute or so later somewhat closer to the house. This process repeated itself until the critter was in my neighbor's garden, where we could tell that it was a puppy that apparently had been dumped in the neighborhood by someone with one to many small black dogs. My father would have nothing to do with the beast since he felt that it was the last thing I needed at that point. However, I convinced my mother to pick up the puppy and bring it into the house. I tried to give it away, but was unsuccessful so the pup has stayed with us.
Bio: Named Cady over a dog that I once took care of who was, in turn, named after a James Joyce character.
