Arrival Story:
I am a recipient of a gorgeous, wonderful service dog named Pebbles from Canine Partners for Life. She was raised in a prison puppy program for her first year of life where she learned obedience and was socialized (and I found learned "Dance" and "Roll Over"). Then she said goodbye and went to CPL where she learned all of her service skills so she could help me be more independent.--I applied for a service dog because I needed help with my balance because of my cerebral palsy, was told that my dog was available, went up to PA for 3 weeks of intensive training, and am now back in Texas with my lovely Pebbles.

Bio:
I am a college student and Pebbles is adapting well to the lifestyle. She likes to snore in my classes and at work. Also especially when there is a serious discussion going on and it is totally inappropriate to start laughing. People were very welcoming of her here--she attracts attention wherever we go.

Sorry this has taken so long!

Name 4 jobs that you have: Helping Mom keep stay on her feet, reminding Mom that it's time for my noontime snack, picking up things that Mom drops, and telling Mom to go to bed so she doesn't get a migraine

Name 4 places you have lived at (or stayed at): I lived at a prison in PA when I was in the Prison Puppy program, I've lived in the CPL kennels, I lived with Mom and roommates (and evil Maverick) in the apartment, and now I live with Mom in our dorm

Name 4 places you have been to: Hobby Center in Houston, The Strand in Galveston, South Padre Island, and I really liked the Sea Center in Lake Jackson--the fish were cool!

Name 4 places you'd rather be: NOT in class! bol., playing at the tennis courts, getting belly rubs off duty at the BSM, visiting my Auntie

7 things about me are: My favorite toy is my duck-duck, I love taking off Mom's socks, I didn't drool at all for the first 6 months Mom and I were together (then I just decided to let loose at dinner time), I've been told that I snore REALLY loud --I snored in the middle of a midterm last semester!, I like homemade Frosty Paws, I can pick up a dime, and I have my own cave at work-- the Awesome Dog Cave!

I can chose 7 great dogs to tag now :o) :

Sabrina
Laura
Gracie
Sir Tux(can't spell)
Mercy
Fonzi
Roxy

Frosty Paws?!?

I just found out that Mom is going to make me a homemade Frosty Paw for our 2nd anniversary! I'm so excited!
And Mom said that she's so happy that she found plain yogurt without sugar this time --last time, she could only find the kind with sugar and I kind of went nuts for a bit!
It's hard to believe that on the 23rd, Mom and I will have been together for 2 years! Wow! Time sure flies by!
I will be 6 in January, but I still have plenty of spunk and work left in me! I tell Mom not to worry about the fact that I'm getting older --she's been worried since our friend Drummer just retired recently at age 10 after being with his partner for 8 years. And then I sprained a leg playing at the lake a few weeks ago. 3 days of rest, and I am good as new!
I keep telling Mom that I will let her know when I'm ready to retire. But I have no plans to quit anytime soon! Mom, we will be walking across the stage together when you graduate from college in May! And we'll have several years together after that! I will be your loyal helper and friend as long as I can! I may be middle-aged, but I'm not an old woman yet!

So happy!

We went out to our college minister's property and I had so much fun! I swam in the lake and rolled in the mud. I stole the football from some friends who were playing. I got to run around like crazy! (see my new picture?)
Mom was a party pooper who stayed by the fire most of the time 'cause she said she was cold--ha! it was perfect weather for me!
