It's Hard Being A Puppy

Puppy Class #2 and Ponies

I got to meet my first horse this afternoon! Mom was so excited because she used to have horses for many years (she's a 2x World Champion, ya know!) and hasn't been able to bring me to the farm until today. We went to visit a friend that has race horses. After running around the house playing with Sarah, the yellow lab, we went outside and over to the fence. I thought they were giant dogs at first and I really didn't care about them. But then they started running a little and it scared me, but only for a second. A little one came over, mom called it a yearling, and then she picked me up and let me smell his nose when he put his head over the fence...So I licked his nose =) I think he liked it! The owner said he's gonna be a great one...who knows, my first horsey kiss might have been on a future Kentucky Derby winner!

Then it was off to my second puppy class. I always have so much fun at school! I get to meet the big dogs and watch them practice on the huge agility course, and then I get to show off how smart I am and get to eat my cheerios when I do it right! We learned sit (which I already knew, mom taught me), down (I knew that, too), and to look at mom when she said my name in last week's lesson. Tonight, we did all that stuff again, but also stand and leave it. Leave it really sucked because I had to actually NOT EAT a piece of food dropped on the ground!! It was so hard! I LOVE my food! But I learned it in 3 tries, I'm so smart =) And then Miss Lilianne held me while my mom ran away, but then mom called me and I ran as fast as I could to get to her!! I was like a little bullet! And then we got to run all the way back together, it was lots of fun! I was really sleepy after all this playing and learning, so I slept the whole ride home.

Mom says we're gonna go back to school this weekend because there's gonna be an agility trial, so I can come and watch and meet lots of new people and dogs! It'll be so much fun!
