Lochie and his sister had a rough start in life. Their original owners decided they were tired of them and no longer wanted to be "bothered" by them any longer. They simply thought they could throw the dogs outside and they would somehow survive on their own. (I don't understand how people can be so cruel.).The pound had found them both running free and picked them up. They contacted the owners and were told they no longer wanted the dogs and to do with them what they wanted...Of course we all know a pound is not a doggie hotel by any means and it is usually a means to an end. But luckily, there was someone looking out for Lochie & Bunnie.
A lady at the pound contacted Barbara, who raises sheperds, and asked if she would be interested in taking the dogs until a permanent home could be found for them. They explained that if no one adopted them , they would both be put down the following day.But by the lucky stars, Barabara agreed to take them in and get them back to health.
They were in terrible condition when she took over their care. They had been on their own for so long, they both had worms, were malnurished, and neither of them had their shots up to date. Barbara dewormed them, got their shots , had them both fixed, and with alot of love and caring they both became healthy and happy once again. She kept them in her care for 7 months making sure they were both healthy and stable enough to move onto a permanent family. She would have kept them herself (They were quite loved) but for lack of room, she had to find them a permanent home.
My husband was looking through a paper when he came across the add with the picture of Lochie & Bunnie running in a yard. He called and spoke to Barbara inquiring all the details. She insisted they remain together, for one they had grown up together and for two they have had such a rough history they need eachother and and have never been apart.
We discussed it and both agreed they sounded like a perfect addition to our family. They are Belgian Sheperds, pure breds. No papers, but that didn't concern us.. They would be in our family to love , so papers were of no concern. Lochie is 3 (Birth date unknown) & Bunnie is 2 (Birth date unknown). When we arrived they were so happy to see new friendly faces. They greeted us jumping with excitement and wet kisses. They were so playful & friendly... Our most important concern was how they were with children. We have a 13 yr old son and a 11 year old daughter. Barbara said they loved childran and her 11 year old granddaughter played & walked with them daily... After we talked for a bit and assured Barbara we would take excellent care of them, we gathered their belongings and we were off on our way home with our new bundles of love.

We are so blessed we were able to find such a perfect pair of dogs. We couldn't have asked for a better addition to our already awesome family. They are already spoiled rotten, as they deserve to be... They most they want is love and we have tons of that to share!

We encourage anyone & everyone that is looking to adopt a new pet, consider an older dog that has lost it's home. Their are such great animals out their that are in need of a happy home. The most they ask for is food, shelter, adn lotsa love!
