Favorite Walk: She prefers to be pushed in a stroller! Old ladies deserve special treatment!
Best Tricks: Looking adorable!
Arrival Story: Kaycee came to me from the local kill shelter at the age of 3. Her former family could not keep her after the grandmother died (Kaycee was her dog). She is my first doxie, and has taught me alot about the breed. She is very special!
Bio: Kaycee has 5 kitty siblings, and has had many foster-siblings, both kitty and doggy, over the years. She's the best big sister ever, and has just retired as the premiere foster-mommy for bottle baby kittens in AZ!
Today, 9/15/09 just after 5pm Arizona time, our precious big sister Kaycee Irene passed over to the Rainbow Bridge. She was just one month short of her 16 th birthday. Kaycee was the best big sister ever to all of her siblings and to many foster siblings that have passed thru our home over the years that she and Mama have been working in rescue. She was Mama's inspiration and right-hand helper for almost 13 years. We all feel like there is a hole in our hearts, and we'll love and miss Kaycee forever.
Wow! What a busy time we've had thru the holidays! And what fun, too!
We had lots of goodies to eat for Thanksgiving & Christmas, new toys from Santa Paws, and lots of snuggle time with Mama!
We've also had several changes in our foster family thru the holidays. Over Thanksgiving, we found wonderful homes for our foster brother, Buster James & a foster sister, Lacey Jo.
We took in Mack & found a wonderful new home for him, too. He went to live with his new dad on Christmas eve! Now we have Eddie, our new foster brother, and a new brother, too! His name is Jackson & he's a pekingese. He's had a hard life, but Missy & I are helping Mama teach him about being loved & living in a safe, happy home.
All the kitty siblings are still here, and they got lots of fun toys from Santa Claws, so they had a happy Christmas, too!
I want to wish all of my friends at Dogster a happy, safe & blessed New Year. 2008 will be the best year yet!
Well, I thought this occasion was special enough to start a diary. I am 14 years old today! Mama worries about me because I'm not as spry as I used to be a couple of years ago, but Dr. Rhonda says I'm in great health, so Mama doesn't need to worry. She just does it anyway!
I got a new collar for my birthday, and a new Beanie Bone, and some treats, too! Not too bad for an old lady!!! And I got some rosettes and wishes from my friends on Dogster, too - thank you everyone! AND a great birthday picture from Dallas & All Fur Fun!
My back got hurt again last week, so I'm not getting around so well, but I'm feeling MUCH better, and I even went out on the porch for a couple of minutes today. I'm getting kinda tired of staying in my bed all the time, and after all, it IS my birthday! Mama says if my back legs don't start working right again, she'll get me a little cart for my bum. That would be okay! Then I could really go for walks again!
At least my back problems got me out of my dental for a little while! But Dr. Rhonda says I still have to have it when my back is better - darn! Oh, well...
