Arrival Story: She ended up at a shelter in Ky due to a divorce situation and they just did not take care of her. She was found wandering but they did locate her owners who at first did not want her back and then thought well yes we want her so we can tie her back up to a tree. Bio: She had a place to go but then she was heartworm positive and she came her so we could treat her and make her better. She is currently going thru heartworm treatment. She was LOW heartworm positive, blood work was very good. She has good weight and healthy coat. She is in need of a dental cleaning and we are working on brushing her teeth to try to remove some of the tartar. She is spayed and UTD on all vaccinations as well.
She LOVES people, not an aggressive bone in her body towards people! She is good with children to.
She likes to:
walk around with something in her mouth, whether it be a toy, a stick or her food dish!
After she came here and we started working with her we discovered she is at least 80% deaf if not completely. We are trying to work with her to teach her hand signals so she can understand basic obedience such as sit and lay.
She rarely barks at anything and has NO reaction to my other dogs but due to her needing to stay on low activity for heartworm treatment we are KEEPING her separate from the other dogs to ensure her well being!
She does like to bark at the mailman sometimes and she barks her head off at the horse across the road... beyond that she is quiet. she has shown no signs of food aggression with people but if she has a treat in her crate (she gets one every night) and a cat or dog comes near her kennel she growls!
She MUST have a home experienced in dealing with a deaf animal, must have FENCED yard and MUST be a house pet.
Her adoption fee will be $150.00.
