Likes:
shredding paper (especially dog training books, I'm not kidding, he actually did this!!!), running in the park, running in large 100 foot radius circles around us, falling in love with dogs who ignore him, and squishing himself flat like a rug when tired

Pet-Peeves:
HATES, hates, hates the car. He drools, makes harumph sounds, and sometimes even likes to throw up. He also demands a regular bedtime and get quite moody (sighing and harumpfing) if we stay up late.

Favorite Toy:
Fuzzy bunnies!!! Of course he'll settle for purple opera-length gloves, socks and underwear (but only if previously worn), small stuffed squeaky plushies, and rope toys

Favorite Food:
CHICKEN LIVER!!! (see his motto below), Charlie Bear treats, and sand (yup, sand; we have to keep on top of him at the beach to make sure he doesn't eat it when he's digging a hole). But the truth is this dog is anorexic; we bribe him to eat his kibble!

Favorite Walk:
He has really started to enjoy Stern Grove. He runs around like a crazy and can't seem to get enough of rolling in the dirt. He also enjoys Mountain Lake Park, Ocean Beach, Baker Beach (actually any beach will do), and Lincoln Park Golf Course.

Best Tricks:
"Dancing," kissing, ringing a bell when he wants to go out, leaving a treat on his paw or nose until we say "release", jumping up four feet into the air, high ten, and roll over

Arrival Story:
The first Hav we ever saw was in an organic food store in the Castro in San Francisco, and we fell in love immediately. Our landlord at the time didn't allow pets, so we did several months of research on the Havanese breed and found out how wonderful they are. We moved, and within four months, found a breeder and picked him up on Christmas eve, 2003. Another interesting fact: Zevi was born on September 11 (2003).

Bio:
Zevi was very shy with other dogs when we got him and hated his puppy class with a mad vengence. He would hide under the chair and not play with the other puppies. This surprised us, because Havanese are supposed to be very social. So, we started taking him to the dog park everyday and his social anxiety went away. He now LOVES other dogs, especially other Havanese! He absolutely adores his half-sister, Stella (Dogster id: 54374)! They met again after being separated for 8 months, and they played together like they had never left the litter. We've attached a few pictures of them playing together. But his very best friend is BABALU!!! Just the mere mention of Babalu's name makes Zevi cock his head almost 180 degrees in joy. He also loves, loves, loves Babalu's parents, Patti and Martin. Zevi is a Hebrew name, and means "my wolf". But he really is more like a bunny than a wolf. He has a very springy gait and actually has a gazelle-like run. People love his run at the dog park when he springs around the park like Tigger the tiger. He makes a pig-like grunting noise when he is really excited, especially when we return home and he's been alone for a couple of hours. Otherwise, he is completely MUTE at home and rarely barks. We love him and can't believe how wonderful he has made our lives. Everyday he makes us laugh and brings us so much joy. We are obsessed with our little bundle of fluff (as you can probably tell by this webpage and the constant baby noises we make in public) and hope that we make him happy as well.
