From the desk of Bree and Zeke's mom.
Sitting here 2 nights before Christmas Eve, Bree is curled into a "husky ball" in her crate, most likely dreaming of snow and Zeke is
spread out next to my chair.
I sometimes get on utube and watch videos from the movie Eight Below with songs that people have put with them. I found one that
is with the song "Keep Holding On". Emotions of how much I love Bree and Zeke overflowed and of course I started crying! Some of you know the love you have for your kids, but like many I don't have kids of my own.
I Love my husband and his four kids, I Love my mom and even though he is gone I still Love my dad. Each of these people have a special place in my heart, each Loved differantly but each Loved. Even Mr. Chuggs and Topher my kitty kids have a special place that only belongs to them.
But the Love I have for Bree and Zeke, each day I realize is much
differant, much more unique. Everyday I come home from work and have a conversation with Bree, She answers my questions in her Husky way of talking ( yes Huskies do talk ...if you really listen)
and no I'm not a crazy lady ...ask any Husky owner they will agree!
They have such free spirits that teach me to live in the moment. Don't
"worry" about the tomorrow ....enjoy each snow flake and take in the
cold air ( -5 degrees tonight) if you can feel the cold air Thank God you can feel !!
Huskies have it in their blood to RUN. My biggest fear is to loose Bree or Zeke in that way, Then I look into their eyes and tell myself to
let THEM live in the moment let them keep their free spirit ( of course they have to keep it in the fenced yard)
I thought I could write down in words what I feel for Bree and Zeke
but I can't. It's so deep inside, so much Love.
Maybe their unconditional Love that they give me is rubbing off.
If I could only treat some people as good as I treat Bree and Zeke.......if only it were that easy... or is it?
Merry Christmas to all the Dogster Pups and Catster Kittys
May 2009 be full of HUSKY LOVE !

vet bill...staples in left back paw - $125.00
head collar so Bree doesn't pull the bandage off and rip the staples
out - $ 10.00
Yummie Chummies from mom to Bree for not feeling good - $5.00
The kisses and lovies that Bree gave to the vet even after he stapled
her paw together .....PRICELESS
Miss Bree got into something today and we still can not firgure out
what! We think she may have got hooked up on something under the bunkbed when her and Zeke were playing.
It didn't seem to bother her at all but we wanted to get her checked out because to us it looked horrible!
4 staples later, a huge bandage and a cool looking collar and she is doing fine...not to happy about the collar but dealing rather well with it.
She gave the vet lots of kisses and lovies and didn't whine one bit!
They said she was the best HUSKY they have seen,,,,,,apparently
their known as drama queens and kings ! HMMMMMMM!

Mom has been spending alot of time with me and my lit'l brother Zeke.
we have her total attention when she gets home...accept for now because she is on the computer.
She would like to say she is sorry for not spending time on Dogster -
this doesn't mean she doesn't love and miss all our pup pals !
She has really been slacking this year in helping in HUSKY HEAVEN
as an admin.
We told her that maybe the other admins would forgive her if she sent them treats !!!
This is what has been going on for the past few months....
Dad again is out of town for three weeks .... this started today and we miss him already.
Zeke is growing into a huge loverboy!! Mr. Cuddly man!!
Mom just loves to eat him up...he's a real SUCKUP !!
In a couple weeks Zeke will be One year old!!
When I was fixed at the age of 6 months they shaved my belly.
Well the hair never grew back. Mom and dad didn't think much of it.
The past few months ( when everyone else was starting to blow their coat) Mom noticed that my hair was not shedding and it looked - well
horrible. She took me up to Sharon (Blue's mom) to have her groom me the HUSKY way and to see if she was worried about nothing.
Sharon told mom right away that she wanted blood work done on me
that I might have a Thyroid problem. So back to Ohio we went and the next day I was being poked at the vets office! They told me I was the best Husky they ever drew blood from! The truth being I was scared to death! They told mom that they would send the blood work to Michigan State University and we would hear back in about two weeks. If it was a Thyroid problem that meds would get me back to norm in no time.
Yesterday dad got the call from the vet ( not Dr. Mowery~ my fav)
and he told dad that my levels were high but they didn't want to use meds yet. They want mom and dad to watch me and if I get too tired
or start getting age spots ( brown spots on my skin) or if I start losing more hair that we should call. His concern was that I would grow OLD before my time!! WHAT THE HECK !?! I'm two !!
Dad didn't get all his questions answered so he will call my favorite vet Dr. Mowery to get the whole scoop after he reviews the results.
I love Dr. Mowery he gets on the floor with me when I visit and lets me give him kisses !!
So mom has been loving on us extra ~ not that her life didn't revolve around us already ~ but her vacation a couple weeks ago was spent with just me and Zeke ! Poor daddy ~ he understands though~
We're moms kids....and she's our mom!
Hugs to all our pals !!

When we first met when I was a pup you showed us who was boss!
I admired you for that and the way you plopped your bowl down in front of visitors!
I'm not sure where or what you have been up to this past year but
I know your lit'l man Zeke would love to meet you!
Words can not express what your family and friends have gone through.
Not knowing where, why or what is happening to you is far greater sorrow then closure itself.
Stay husky strong my friend and until you return I'll take of Zeke for you~
rest easy knowing WE WILL NOT GIVE UP HOPE !

PLEASE HELP MY PUP PAL .....
Mica-the Wonderpup! Mica is doing some fundraising for IMHA Research. IMHA stands for Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia.
This is what took Mica away to the rainbow bridge and her mom is
continuing the battle to help find a cure and prevention for this disease.
Here’s how you can help:
Be a pal and corral MICA and her pack.
MICA - http://www.dogster.com/dogs/504880
MIRRA- http://www.dogster.com/dogs/581776
TPGOO- http://www.dogster.com/dogs/718265
If someone chooses Mirra, or TPGOO without Mica, it won’t count. With each new corral Mica’s IMHA Research Fund gets a small donation. A bonus comes if Mirra and TPGOO are also selected.
The tally of the number of corrals MICA has on 31 May 2008, after Mirra's Woofday, means A DOLLAR for EVERY CORRAL! For example with 1000 corrals, then MICA'S IMHA FUND gets 1000 dollars. These donations will be from the same kindhearted GSD who raced her last fall. It was a close race and Mica lost at the 11th hour in corrals. This Special GSD & his owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, believes so much in Mica's cause, IMHA research & K9 Blood donations. He too, lost a fellow K9 Officer to IMHA.
This disease may not be well known, but it is the LEADING BLOOD DISEASE in both dogs and cats & second only to thyroid disease for immune system illness.
PLEASE HELP MICA AND THIS CAUSE...YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU YOURSELF MAY NEED IT HELP !
Please pawmail Mica http://www.dogster.com/dogs/504880
if you need information to make donations!
THANK YOU for your support thats only three clicks away !!

Well today me and my little brother got into a lit'l fight.
You see when dad and mom went to church this morning
I got to stay in the "condo" crate and Zeke got the "apartment"
crate ( the one I was in is a little bigger- we take turns).
Anywayyyyyyyyyyyy. I hide my bone in the blanket with the
intention of saving it for later. I curled up into a little ball and went fast asleep. Before I knew it mom and dad were home and we were headed for outside! No time to grab my bone ...I had to pee!
So I ran outside along with Zeke. Zeke being the boy he is ran back inside and headed for the 'condo'. I headed back in myself to see what he was doing and caught him stealing my bone! I of course told him what I thought about that and right there in the crate ...with both of us in there....we started growling and telling each other what we thought...Zeke got the best of me and lost his puppy temper and bite me near my eye. I have posted a picture.
Zeke and I are ok now in fact we went right outside after dad corrected us
both and played.
Mom noticed my eye and took a cold towel and it finally stopped bleeding.
I love my brother even though he hurt me a lit'l. I was protecting my bone and Zeke was protecting himself.

Feb 13th dad, still working midnights, was called to a crash
(in case some of you dont know he is a State Trooper)
Arriving first at the scene along with another Trooper, dad
found a Honda which had hit a tree on the passengers side.
The driver was not responding but still alive. The passenger
was screaming and unable to get out.
The driver was not wearing his seatbelt and they both had been
drinking.
Dad handles crashes like this several times a week and does a good
job seperating himself from what he sees. However, the next night
Valentines night, he was telling mom about the crash and the events
surrounding it. During his story he mentioned the drivers name
Eric Floyd. Dad told her from the looks of it he wouldn't make it.
mom knew the driver! dad was right. Eric held on for almost a week, Last Tuesday his heart stopped and he is no longer with his family.
At 30 years old he is gone.
One bad choice and his family has lost a son, a brother and an uncle.
Please if you Drink don't Drive.....
it's my dad's job to arrest the people who are drinking and driving
No one likes him when he does this.
But it's also my dad's job to tell the family when their loved one will no longer be coming home.
RIP Eric you will be missed by so many.
