I Love My Daddy & My Daddy Loves Me!

I love my Daddy! I'm his first schnauzer and he fell in love with the breed once he met me. He is so gentle and kind to me. Every night I get special time with him when he rubs my belly and I fall asleep. He has done everything for me from walking me, feeding me, bathing me, taking me on vacations, taking care of me when I was sick and keeping me healthy. He also gives me extra treats even though mom tells him not to do that!!! I'm his special girl and he lets me know every day. Thank you Daddy for loving me. I love you!

Remember our Troops & K9s

Also our K9s who are serving in our current war. There is a great website honoring them, and if you click on the "Operation Military Care" link you can see how to help them. One of our dogsters mothers contacted the website admin & felt it was a valuable effort.

Diary of the Day

Wow - we were so surprised when we found out I had been chosen as dogster's diary of the day!!! How exciting to get chosen to be in the spawtlight. In Schnauzers Rule we always yap a lot and it spills over into our diaries ~Bol~ someone heard us schnauzers yapping!!!! All kidding aside, we love dogster for the community it provides, the opportunity to meet and to share with others. Today exemplified that - everyone was so generous with messages, gifts and invitations to become friends. I met some great pups today, and some of my old friends came out to say hi even though they haven't been around much, and of course my daily yappy pals! It just goes to show that we continue to be here for each other in good times, hard times and fun times. Thank you dogster for providing this place for all of us to be together! And thank you to all my furiends! You're the best!

Friends

One of my best furiends, Jake, was just visiting this week. We knew each other when we were really young. We both had a sister then, but both girls have passed to the Rainbow Bridge. The four of us used to visit at each others houses, go for walks, and go out on their boat. Jake & Rachel used to jump off of the boat to go swimming! Annie & I only went swimming when our pawrents were in the water and we wore life jackets. Jake & Rachel were the first pups to meet Annie. Right after we picked up Annie from the breeder, we met them at the boat dock & they sniffed each other out. We didn't go out on the boat with them though, we went home so Annie could see her new house.

Jake used to be a therapy dog in Florida. He is SO sweet. He loves to sit next to people and hold his paw up. He could sit for hours so that the nursing home people could visit & pet him. Finnegan was really jealous of him and tried to keep him away from mom & dad. I didn't let Finn get in my way, after all I've known Jake longer than Finn has been alive!!! Jake is 11 and I'm 13, and Finn is only 3 - silly boy. He'll learn. They come to visit every year. Last year they came during summer and swam in our pool. That made Finnegan want to swim. This year Winston got to meet Jake. They seemed to get along just fine. And Molly gets along with everyone. So except for that silly Finn, all was great.

Jake & his family are going to Alaska next!!! Good thing he's a big dog, he won't be scared of those big animals. Dad says they'd like us for a snack!!! Snack!!! Guess we'll stay home and wait for Jake to come back & tell us about it.

Sweet Velvet

One of my dear friends Velvet crossed the Rainbow Bridge this past week. It made us VERY VERY sad. Velvet is 14, one of the older gals in Schnauzers Rule. I always appreciated her experience & sense of humor. Mom always appreciated her mom's sharing her knowledge & experience at caring for older dogs. Velvet has been the #1 game player in Schnauzers Rule too. She even won a Pawcademy Award for it. She had a splenectomy last year and had been doing well. Recently she was having some problems that seemed to get better. Then she went to the vet and found out she had lymphoma. Her mom said overnight Velvet went downhill so terribly that they had to let her cross the bridge. We know her family is very sad. We will miss you Velvet, but you are always in our hearts. And we hope someday you'll join us again in Schnauzers Rule from the Bridge! In the meantime, I know your brother & sister, and my sister Annie, and lots of other schnauzers are there with you. Hugs & kisses from my family to yours.

In Celebration of Mother's Day

I love my mom because...

4. She has nursed me through many illnesses staying up all night and even sitting in the cage with me at the veterinary hospital
5. She always knows what I need and provides for me every day
6. She has always made me feel safe and protected
7. She takes me everywhere she can or has someone to care for me.
8. She makes all the pups in our family feel special in our own special way.
9. She tries to help new angels make the transition over the Rainbow Bridge.
10. She like to be there for all my dogster pals and their pawrents.

Spring is Sprung!!!

I never met a Spring I didn't like, but I don't know if I ever met a Sprung! Anyway,
it's SO pretty outside. The temperatures are perfect in the high 70s. We had a week in the 90s, and we thought we were gonna miss our lovely spring flowers. But nope!!! We get to walk on green grassy meadows and sniff all of the flowers!

I think California is called the Golden State because during the summer most of the hillsides turn a golden yellow color when they dry out. Dog day afternoons. But then it's time for swimming and more beach trips. So it's not so bad.

Right now, I think I'll take time to smell the roses....
