Arrival Story:
A man came into the shelter with her and her 5 puppies. I know the shelter had no kennel space because my sister was volunteering there and told me. Anyhow, Sasha's puppies were only 3 weeks old, and the man who brought them in agreed to have them all euthanized. I heard this, and it just ripped my heart out! I told my sister, and I looked at Sasha and saw her head down between her legs. She knew she was going to die. I could not let that happen. After much discussion and arguing, the director of the shelter allowed me to take Sasha and ALL of her puppies. I fostered her puppies and when they were old enough they were adopted out by the shelter! When I returned Sasha (at the time I did NOT want a dog) they told me she would be euthanized because she was 3 years old and everyone wants a puppy! I was already attached. It was destiny. I kept Sasha and all of her puppies got great homes!

Bio:
Sasha came to me just 2 weeks after my father died. I believe that my dad sent me Sasha to help me cope with the pain of losing him. My dad was a huge animal lover. Sadly Sasha had been quietly battling chronic kidney failure and had acute kidney failure september 12th, 2004. We tried to determine if there was something we could do for her, to get her back again, but as we began to gather information and help for her condition, she worsened significantly. We could not allow her to suffer. My husband and kind veterinarian put her to rest September 15th, 2004 at noon. Our hearts are broken!
