Arrival Story:
Chipper's past is unknown. In September 2006, he was picked up as a stray by Oakland County Animal Control in Waterford, MI. He was already neutered, so it's unclear if he ran away or was dumped by his previous owners. No one claimed him, so he went up for adoption. On November 19th, my husband and I attended the Pet Expo in Novi. We didn't conciously go looking for a dog, but for the past 5 years I've been wanting to get a companion for Kia. My husband noticed Chipper first and after some one on one time we decided he was the one. 5 days after we brought Chipper home he became very ill. It took a lot of money and tests which were totally worth it, but he is now home and on the mend. In the end, he was diagnosed with an extra sensitive digestive tract. The wrong type of food or treats can make him sick for days, so we have to be extra careful about what he's given. But so far, he's been doing great. We look forward to many years with our funny little guy.

Chipper recently completed Level One Obedience and we'll be starting Level Two in March. As a special treat their last day of class, the dogs were able to experience some of the simple agility equipment. And does Chipper ever love to jump! It's obvious an Agility Class just might be in his future. We've also enrolled him in a local Doggy Day Care and he enjoys spending the day playing with his doggy friends and comes home exhausted, much to the delight of Kia and myself.
