On August 13th I died after a short neurological crisis. Because I was recently bitten by a collie my brain had to be tested for rabies. My special veterinarian, Dr. Lavely at the Animal Care Center in Rohnert Park, California, could not get my brain back from the county coroner. My family will never know quite what killed me.
I want everyone to know how much fun I had on dogster, and how lucky I felt to make so many new friends from all over the world.
Although my parents are heartbroken,I hope they will feel comforted after my rebirth ceremony Ocober 1st. That will mark the end of my Sidpa Bardo and I will choose my next reincarnation. Because I was a loving, generous and happy girl my parents pray for an auspicious rebirth.
For those who have made this journey before me, wish me well; for those still on earth, hugs and kisses, and the very best wishes for finding a loving home with an open cookie jar!
Love,
Luna

Mom came back from vacation, and we're on our regular Fort Funston schedule now. Wow, I really missed my friends while I was stuck at home. Dad doesn't like The Fort, so he took Marshall and me on a lot of walks, but it wasn't the same. He even took us to FF one day, and that was really cool. Still, it's nice to have Mom around again; she gives out way more treats than Dad.
PS: I found out that busy-body beagle at Fort Funston is really the reincarnation of Buddy, and that he came back in this life to help Marshall "handle the Queen Bee." I don't understand. I don't buzz. I don't sting. I just insist on having my own way. Isn't that what Weimaraners are bred to expect? I tried to give Buddy/the Beagle pup a kiss today, but he turned away with a "harumph." Maybe he's still mad that I buried his favorite bone in the backyard. I'll keep trying...I sure loved my big brother and still miss him. Anyway, on the way home I caught him looking at me and he gave me a short "high-five." Things are beginning to look up.
So I figure, if Marshall doesn't shape up and recognize me as the alpha dog, I could hide his favorite toy in Buddy's canister of ashes...somehow I think Buddy would appreciate the gallows humor.

There's a new beagle at Fort Funston that follows Marshall and me around a lot. He seems to have really bonded with Marshall and they talk all the time, but start whispering when I run up to them. It's a bit disturbing. There's something vaguely familiar about this beagle, but I just can't put my paw on it.
