Arrival Story:
Bobby my GSD was pining for his mother, so I went to the Stubbington Ark, in Hampshire, UK to see what they had. There amongst all the Greyhounds, was this tiny GSDx puppy. She looked at me and I looked at her - and it was love. Bobby fell in love too when they met.... that was it, she was ours!!!

Bio:
Midge was abandoned at the shelter on the night of 30th December 1989. It was only because the Shelter Managers dogs wanted out that she was found soon after being dumped. When I got her home I discovered lots about her. She had never been out, everything frightened her - blades of grass, cracks in the pavements, bits of paper blowing around, parked cars, moving cars- you name it she was frightened of it!!! I b elieve she had also been beaten as when I picked up a pencil, she wet the floor and ran away!!! It took two years of very careful work to get her over her fears, but we did it! All except her hate of "short fat old men"!!!! Midge was a brilliant foster mother - to kittens as well as pups - even though she never had any pups of her own!! The picture of her cleaning a kitten shows this. She went deaf at about 12 years old, but with a vibrating collar, she still enjoyed off lead walks. She loved to play agility and flyball, although she retired herself from agility at 11, she continued to play flyball until her death at 15 1/2!!!
