Arrival Story:
Found him on our local animal shelter - we fell in love with him BUT his cage said "unadoptable" - he had current tags & an owner (Otis was picked up running loose in the neighborhood) the owner was called(3 seperate times!!!) and each time said he was coming out asap! BUT thank god he never showed and finally after 30 days at the shelter I could legally adopt him, he was 5 1/2 when we got him

Bio:
He recently had 2 major surgurys for a fungal infection in his nose and sinus'. They had to drill into his head(sinus area) and flush anti fungal medicine into the infected area. He's had the surgury twice now and is slowly coming around...So far we have spent around $5,000 not including the medicine he needs. The medicine is so expensive in the US we have to get it from Canada(more than 1/2 the price) Sporanax is one of the most expensive animal medicines..just our luck! We figure his last owner left him at the shelter because of his issues. When we got him he sneezed & had a running snotty nose all the time, that led to bloody noses..all of this is from having a longterm fungus infection(not treated) poor friend - We love SO much - It was a sign we found him at the shelter when we did :) Please send your DOG PRAYERS that Otis recovers! thanks for reading his story.....Wendy(Otis' mom) UPDATE - 1.5.06 - Otis is doing GREAT! he is heathly and loving life. We are building a house currently on the river and Otis is happy as a clam....he's almost 9 and we love him to death - SUPER spoiled like he should be. Thank you for all the kind emails wondering about Otis Cheers! Otis' mom Wendy
