Arrival Story: 4 years ago my boyfriend became the proud owner of what he told his parents was a beautiful "daschund." Funny thing is, he didn't want to tell his parents that his new dog was a pit bull. A year or so later when Abbott grew to 85 lbs. they started to figure things out. His parents came to love Abbott so much that when he left home they couldn't imagine life without him (even though they live in a very afluent area where people are not accepting of the bully breeds). A few years later we met and were ready to get our own dog. We loved Abbott a lot, but with me being of small stature we really wanted a smaller dog. American Staffordhsire Bull Terriers seemed like a perfect match. Little did we know that they are highly coveted dogs that require a long wait period to acquire. I started researching pet rescue organizations in my area and came accross Three Bullldogs. We gave Kirstan, the head of the organization, a call and she really took the time to talk with us to find out what it was we were looking for. Soon we were looking through the profiles of the many dogs she was overseeing that were up for adoption. We liked black and white dogs, and she had two-Sela and Melody. Sela was described by her foster mom as a loving, sweet, smart dog who bonded quickly. Melody was described similary. Sela's picture showcased her big ears, and instantaneously I fell in love. We made an appointment to visit them both, however the weekend we were supposed to visit Melody and Sela Melody ate some bad mushrooms. It was too late by then, though..... We had already fallen in love with Sela. She just seemed to have that little spark to her. After working closely with Three Bulldogs and Sela's wonderful foster mom, we brought her home about a month later. We couldn't even begin to imagine life without her.....

Bio: Found abandoned with her litter in Olympia, Sela's two sibblings had to be put to sleep due to illness. Somehow she made it through and was rescued from the pound by Three Bulldogs. After several wonderful foster homes she came to us, almost 200 miles from where she was found.
