 Quick Bio:
 Birthday: July 7th 2006
Likes: Little people, leaping, spinning, running in the snow, sleeping next to the AC/Heat air vent.

Pet-Peeves: Clipping nails, rain.

Favorite Toy: Chuck a Duck, stuffed squirril, stuffed duck. Also goes nuts over a plastic shopping bag with one knot in it, and an empty 20 oz water bottle with 5 dried beans sealed inside!

Favorite Food: Natural Balance & Zen Puppy Dog Treats

Favorite Walk: The river walkway, neighborhood and any dog friendly BIG park.

Arrival Story: Wheatens are rare in Utah . . . we looked all over the West for about 3 years. Finally, a litter with good lines showed up this year in northern Utah. There were 5 left to choose from, but our pup-to-be was pretty darned obvious! It has been a match made in heaven. Cass was treated wonderfully by the breeder, so much so that she took to her kennel from the first night without whining or messing . . . ever! Oh, the cordoned off hardwood floor in the breakfast nook (her indoor digs) has been wipped up a time or two, but she is a very good kennel pup. In not too many months, she will have the run of the house. We feel lucky to have our Wheatie after such a long search.

Bio: Everything we had heard about Wheatens is true! She hates rain drops, but loves the snow. Cass was born to leap . . . from one floor surface to another, off the back porch, off the lawn furniture . . . anywhere. Her mad dashes in fresh snow are punctuated by whirling or spinning 3 or 4 turns and then back to the full tilt run. She often sleeps on her back. Her "kisses" are with a long, perfect and lightning fast tongue. Cass never met ANYONE she didn't like! (Puppy Kindergarten is helping with her manors) When I let go of her leash in the yard, she picks it up and walks herself. Cassidy will pick up a cat tail (the wetland plant, not the feline type) leaf or any piece of bark or twig, and will hold it up while running around like it is a prized possession. Some dog!

Dateline 14tSept 2009 1645 hrs Millcreek Valley Farm
Went into second stage labor and soon after whelped the first of the 6 expected purebred Wheaten Terrier pups! The second came 15 minutes later, a bruiser of a male, easily an ounce or two heaver than the other 5. The remaining pups came in similar fashion in a textbook event. My people helped with drying, asperating, warming, tieing cords and showing each newbe it's own teat for some O' that good first milk.
Got my appitite back for something other that placenta (yuk) in a couple of hours. Had eggs, cheese and Beneful Puppy Chow this morning and all is well! I hope my people got some sleep last night as they were up with me for the last two nights . . . . why I do not know, but ya cant tell them anything.
SO . . . . my website will be updated to reflect the new puppies and their expected adoption date. AKC has to be notified and a package of registration forms ordered. Tails and dew claws this Thursday at North Ogden Vets. So much to do! Oh, and if anyone is interested in Wheaten Terrier puppies, I would love to meet all perspective puppy owners so that we can each feel good about their placement. I would love to show you more here:

You might have to cut and paste this into your browser (NO not BOWSER) address bar. It is a good site, honest!! No bots, cookies or other nuisance stuff!
Ok then, more later! Whew!!

As much as I LOVE the snow, I am ready for Spring. For one thing, I get to go for more rides in the truck, and also I hear there is a trip to Moab Utah in the works for the end of May to the Moab Arts Festival in the big park there - cut and paste:

Great pet friendly motels and condo's there. Gotta LOVE Red Rock country. The reason we go, other than for ME, is to set up a booth at the festival and sell my people's line of awesome natural soaps, bath salts and beeswax based lotions & lip balms . . . . all handmade in Utah with cool local stuff like salts from the Great Salt Lake. Check it all out here - cut and paste:

But the BIG news is that I am promised to a great stud Wheaten in the big city as soon as I "come in" some time late April. I just know that I will be an awesome mom . . . . I can't wait. Already I have a Wheatens For Sale web site that my peeps made for me - cut and paste:

Pops sez that if we build it, they will come! Puppies in the late spring time . . . . what could be better!
I do kinda miss that dang cat tho. Chasing stuffed toys is not as much fun 'cause my people get tired of tossin' them after a while. Be well!!

Yeah its my birthday today and I havn't written for some time. Biggest news is that my people went in to the honey, lip balm and soapmaking business. They are Millcreek Valley Farm. Just go to millcreekvalleyfarm.com to take a look. Of course EVERYONE knows wheatens do not shed, but the cat did . . . . lots!! So not wanting that dang cat's fur in the honey they sold her. Nice family just down I-15 actually PAID $50.00 bucks for it. Soooooo I am queen of the house now, and have only my toys to run with.
I will be having pups next time in season . . . . ought to be in Sept. THAT will be a new experience. Millcreek Valley Farm Wheatens is soon to be "out there!"
I love road trips! Since last entry, I have been to the Grand Canyon, Moab and just up camping close by. Life is good . . . I look and feel great . . . . all is well!
