Arrival Story:
My last of two sheltie's had passed and I swore I would never have another dog. My daughter and I were attending an art class in SCOTTSDALE , Az and just before our class she spotted a pet store and stated she needed a puppy fix. I had NO intention of buying a dog HOWEVER upon entering the pet store I saw a sheltie out of my peripheral vision. I ignored it and directed my attention to the dogs my daughter and niece were playing with in a playroom. Somehow the Sheltie I'd glanced upon on my way in, ended up in my arms and in the playroom. He was 4 months with scratches on it's head from being in a too small a kennel. I was mad! I'm against farming and I wasn't going to support these people in anyway by buying this dog. The dog worked its way into my heart when he wrapped his head around my neck. I found myself in tears and told the owner I was going to take this dog for 1/2 price, and that he was going to have to keep him until we left in 3 days...and that he was going to have to make sure the vet saw him before we picked him ...and that he would need to be bathed before I took him home! A deal was made and I rescured Scotty from a life he was anxious to leave. When I brought him home I discovered he was afraid of trucks, cars, load noises and people. I hired a specialist to help me train him and she told me I was going to have to make everything I did with him FUN! Today,,, he is the most talented, agaile worker dog I have ever owned. He alerts us when the newspaper comes so he can fetch it, alerts us when the mail comes so he can get it, loves our neighbors and loves to play ball and frisbee. Very social and willing to learn more tricks. Scotty is a herder and somehow, has managed to save two dogs from running into a busy street.

Bio:
Scotty has adopted my daughter's cat, Batman, who plays like a puppy, as his very own brother. They get along so well, that Batman hides when his mother attempts to take home after a long weekend together. A truly very special relationship!
