I lost my first Cavalier, Dash, to MVD . I considered the pros and cons very seriously, but after almost 9 years of devotion and sweet Cavalier love, I decided to risk the health issues, and started looking for a puppy. I was thrilled to find Rhiannon Cavaliers in Nova Scotia, and was grateful to get little Finnigan.

Bio:
Finnigan comes from a good line, and while he has some faults (mostly his bite, which is very crooked), he is a beautiful example of the breed.

Cats are my friends

A big Woof to you all! April here is like Winter and Summer alternating! We get Xmas-card snow one day, and then the next day it's gone and the sun is shining. I like both!

My best non-human friend is the next-door neighbours cat, Caramel. Mum thinks he's the handsomest cat ever, and he's a good colour for me (?) I don't care what colour he is, he's fun!

Caramel saunters into my yard, and teases me. He likes to lie down and look all cuddly and soft and relaxed, so I run around him, back and forth. Eventually, he springs up and chases me, and pats me with his giant paws. Then we do it again.

He's never hurt me, but I'm not about to hurt him! He's just so much fun to run around. Really, I run around nothing when he's not there, but it's more fun to have a little danger.

I'm such a good boy, Mum says. When she says my name, I always look to see what she wants, and if she wants me to go to her, I go! Now, if I find something interesting I want to eat, she says "thank you" and I drop it, so she can make sure it's okay for me to be eating it. One time she found me with a christmas tree light bulb! I'm glad she didn't let me eat it, because the way she behaved, it was poisonous or something. She told me it would bite back.

The house is getting a bit more settled, and now I have more rooms to explore. Mum says shes going back to work soon, but I don't know what that means yet.

I like having Daddy living downstairs, and Mum up - that way I get to play on both floors, and sleep on two beds, although I always choose Mum in the end. They don't fight much any more, now they talk and sometimes even laugh. Mum is working hard to run the house so that Daddy can "move on", whatever that means. As long as Mum doesn't "move on", I'll be happy!

March out like a Lion

I am doing great! I have recovered completely from my snippage, and am totally unimpaired - I still get it on with my stuffed Opus at least once a day!

Mum was hoping I'd grow out of it - she's crazy! That toy is my beyatch!

Our huge house is in some kind of uproar. Mum has moved her bed into what was her office, and now she has a little apartment all her own. Dad is still living downstairs, and they seem to get along okay, but something has changed.

They are moving all kinds of stuff out of some rooms and into others. It doesn't make much sense to me, but since I enjoy watching people work I'm finding it fascinating.

We had a new human move in with us. Shes' nice, but she doesn't like kisses! I'm learning that most people don't, so I save up for Mum and her friend Suzy, who loves to kiss me up.

I guess there are more humans moving in soon, so I'll have lots of people to play with and pet me.

January flies by

Woof woof everyone!

This month has just flown by. I've grown a lot, and Mum still laughs at every spurt, since I grow one end at a time. Now my front end is nice and chunky and has lots of wavy fur growing, but my back end is still little and skinny. My back legs are way smaller than the front ones! I have another bunch of skin to grow into, though, so she's hoping my back end will catch up. Then the trip to the vet for the snippage.

I am having a great time. Mum has been sick for almost three weeks, so I'm getting lots of time with her. She's been sleeping in her office so as not to wake Daddy with all the coughing in the middle of the night, and I love napping with her on the daybed.

I have discovered the joy of paper products! Tissues, dryer sheets, notes, cheques, toilet paper tubes, they are all great! While Mummy is laid up, I have been putting down a good layer of paper bits all over her office floor. She is learning to be a better housekeeper, to try to keep me off the paper goods, but she gives me the tubes to play with when all my toys get boring.

It's been very cold out, but Daddy takes me for walks every day. Mummy hasn't been joining us because of her chest cold, but soon she'll come too. Daddy lets me off the lead in the Village, so I can run like a maniac. Running is the best! I come home all out of breath, with sparkly eyes, and run around the house to warm up.

I am one happy pup!
