Duke Went to Rainbow Bridge

March 19 was one of the hardest days of my life. Duke, my companion since I left home at 18 passed away. We burried him here at our home. I have not gone one day since with out crying. I have Delilah and she is teaching me new things. However, I still mourn for Duke. He was a dog who had a following of people, who mourned him. Often people who wrote and called and asked how he was before they asked and some that only wanted to know how he was :-). No one could say no to this wonderful smart guy. I used to say Moses, when talking about him, because he knew "dog", and "Duke". He caught on to "Moses" within a week. He is sorely missed.
I even got a memorial tattoo for this ole man. I placed it in a place so I will see it every day, facing me, because as time goes on and I am distanced from this, I still do not want to go a day without remembering him. He taught me a lot. He was a challenge. He was in the "bad" side of the shelter. Two hours from being euthanized. We taught each other alot. I always had to come home, I had a dog to feed. He taught me responsibility, and love, and I taught him boundaries and how to behave, verbal commands. He by far taught me more than I ever taught him. He may have understood my conversations and I was suprised by his knowledge, but if you only knew, what this amazing dog taught me, I cannot even put it in words, I know you dogster owners understand and know!! RIP Duke, you are always in my heart. I will post a picture of the tattoo. ******The tattoo is NOT as big as it appears, I zoomed in on it. It is on the left inside wrist facing me.....can be covered with a watch if it needs to be. ********

A New Sister

Mom has gone and done it again. First they raced off and dropped me at a kennel and mom left and she was crying. This kind of freaked me out. I thought they were leaving me forever. By the time they got back it felt that way. They had to nerve to bring me back a girl puppy. I would have much rather have had a tee shirt that said "My parents went to Palm Springs, CA and all I got was this stinking shirt" but no, these fools had to go and get a puppy.
She is not too bad though, she just has some learning to do. I remember what it was like when I was that age. She has been passed around some so she is learning everyone's different ways of doing things. I feels orry for her. I kind of am beginning to love her. Shhh don't tell the parents.
Well I guess I better go I hear mom in the treats and I want to get all of them before that little stinker comes in there.

BIG NEW HOUSE!!

My mommy and daddy bought me and my kittie siblings a big new house!! Can you believe it? After living in that rv, I did not think we would have all this room. I am going to take down some pictures of me and show off my new diggs!! I am having to keep the girls in line sometimes. They love to look out the sliding glass windows, I like to look out front and watch people go down the road since not many go down this road it is a big deal if they do!! I have had a lot of fun sitting with mom on her big chair and on the sofa while dad sits with his kitties and sometimes we switch up but no matter what I am jealous cause I want all of the attention!! That is just the way it goes!!

Well off I go to play!!!!!!!!! I have lived in houses and apartments before, but never one all my own!! Thanks mom and dad!

WELL MY MOM HAS DONE IT NOW!

My mom has gotten married!!!! My dad is really nice and I most certainly love him. I am just shocked! My new family consists of CATS!! I treat them really nice and one of them I really love. Her name is Grace, I helped my mom and dad save her. Someone dropped her off and treated her bad. I understood that cause, when my mom got me, I was treated badly. She showed me humans love me. She has me so trusting now you can play kick me. Before you could not raise your hands or feet without me cowering. She is a married to a guy who is really compassionate! He loves his kitties. The other two that were here when I got here think they are little miss princesses. I don't know about them. As long as they leave my food and toys alone I am happy. I don't ever try to hurt them I will just herd them away from my stuff!
I still love to travel whether it is to the corner store or a 14 hour road trip. So the idea of my mom and her new husband living in a 2003 montana fifth wheel rv is ok with me! We will be traveling in it! Right now it is pretty much parked where we live, but someday we are going to be roadies with it!
I won't have to bring mom my bag and toys to pack anymore, it all just kinda goes in this RV thingy!
Some of you are gonna be SHOCKED mom got married. She really loves him and he loves her. Trust her, he was as shocked as me and mom are! He is like mom, just never interested in getting married! I was supposed to be the ring bearer at their wedding, but it was too hot, but they promised when they renew their vows, I can do it!! I cannot wait. They are going to renew them every year at the same place they got married unless we move or something. Well I need to go play!!
