Favorite Toy: Anything that can fit in his mouth and can squeak

Favorite Food: Natural Choice Sensitive Stomach

Favorite Walk: Around our block: "Bubba's Beat"

Best Tricks: Dancing, giving Princess Diana eyes

Arrival Story: We rescued him from the Popcorn Park Zoo Humane Society, Forked River, NJ. I had looked all over Petfinder, but kept coming up short with those rescue groups. We finally remembered the kennel at the Zoo, about an hour and a half away, and drove down one Saturday. We looked in two kennel areas before going to the small dog room. There were about 15 dogs in there, and 14 of them were barking at us. Guess who didn't? Our new baby boy! Barnabus is about three years old, and is named for the cult-classic soap star of Dark Shadows, Barnabus Collins. We figured it fit, as the two Barnabus' have black hair and fangs.

Bio: Poor guy was found as a stray, and was in the humane society for about a month. When he was brought out to us, he gave me a hug and rolled over on his back for a belly rub. LOVE AT FIRST PET!

I finally got a haircut! Jeez, Mom. Well, I guess she didn't want me to get cold when it was still chilly out. The first nice day we had where she was sure there would be no more cold days... it was off to the groomer! I can't say that I had a good time. I really don't like my feet being touched. Also, I really have to say I didn't like the groomer. She actually cut my poor skin! I was so miserable, I kept stopping every time I walked so I could turn it around and lick it.
But other than that, life has been pretty good! I finally convinced Mom that I could stay in the backyard with her without a leash. I'm a good boy! I listen when she says to "come back here!", even when people I don't know come in the yard. She won't leave me alone, but that's okay, I love my Mommy. She plays ball with me and lets me chase her around.

But Mom gave my butt a bath twice today. I am a little unhappy. See, she thought it would be fun to give some of that yummy wet food, BIG MISTAKE! My tummy was so upset! At least she didn't take me to the vet, like last Friday. I was so scared. There was a little Italian greyhound puppy there that I didn't like, then the lady who my Mom says wears the "#1 Grandma" sweatshirts all the time tried to pet me, then the vet touched me, and he made Mom put a muzzle on me!! Then he gave me a shot in my butt!!! And told me I'm allergic to fleas! Well, DUH! At least Mom puts my new medicine in peanut butter, my faaaavorite.

And I don't know how I feel about it, really. She says I should get a cut like a Westie, but there's a Westie who *thinks* he can pee on my trees and get away with it. So I say FIE ON THE WESTIE CUT! He also wears a green sweater, which probably makes him think he looks all jaunty and becoming. So I don't think I will be happy if we get the same haircut.
