Arrival Story:
My husband (Sandro) and I had just gotten married. We knew that we were going to eventually get a dog, because we both grew up with them and couldn't imagine life without one, but we figured we'd wait a while. We had been back from our honeymoon for less than a week....when we made our first trip to the shelter(that's a while right?) Anyway, we made the trip to the shelter, and we found the cutest little pitbull mix. Sandro wasn't ready to commit, he said we could come back the next day and if she was still there it was meant to be. The next morning we got there, and of course no puppy.....I looked around the room and it seemed as if all the cages had reserved signs on them. Then out of the corner of my eye, I saw her....this little black face with a white nose staring at me. That was it....the second we looked at her, we knew she was ours. While we were waiting to be approved, we wandered into the kitten room....and wouldn't you know that we found the perfect kitten too!

Bio:
We knew Nyla had lab in her when we adopted her, and I grew up with labs so I was comfortable with that breed. What we didn't realize was that she was a border collie too....and the more I read about them, the more I realize that this is her dominant breed.
