Likes:
Being wherever his people are, getting attention, eating: his dinner, our dinner, treats, ice, bark...

Pet-Peeves:
Loud engines, taking pills, being left behind

Favorite Toy:
His "baby" - a stuffed bone that he always takes to bed with him

Favorite Food:
Anything - he's especially fond of ice and lettuce, and eating corn on the cob

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere - except walking back towards home

Best Tricks:
He's so old - about all he can do anymore is speak (which he's really good at when it's time for dinner!). Oh - and farting - he's very good at that!!!

Arrival Story:
My husband (boyfriend at the time) adopted him when he was a little puppy...he's been a part of our family as long as we've been a family!

To whomever posted the rosette and beautiful photo of Checkers at the rainbow bridge - thank you. I am touched by the effort you went to for Checkers and his loved ones. I have been missing him more than usual the last couple of days...through you I think he stopped by to visit one last time.

In Memory of Checkers

Checkers was our companion for almost 14 years - since shortly after my husband and I started dating. We miss him every day, in every thing we do - from stepping out of bed in the morning (I used to have to make sure I didn't step on him), to getting the mail, to going to bed at night. He will be remembered forever in our hearts, and the hearts of all his family and friends who loved him.

Where's my Christmas???

So - my mom and dad and all their family took a really nice cruise the whole week before Christmas. And they didn't even bring me - can you believe it! I love being on boats, seeing new places, and eating lots and lots - all the fun stuff they got to do without me.

Oh well - I got to spend most of the time at Cooper Camp with Jan and Jake. Jake scares me sometimes, but Jan is really nice so I have a good time. And then the last night, I stayed home and Diana came to visit. That was all fun, but I sure was glad when my people came home! Except, they were all worn out from their trip, so they didn't want to play much, or eat much...and they didn't even exchange presents, or have ANY presents for me!!!

I didn't even get a shirt that said "All I got for Christmas is this lousy t-shirt." Did I get gypped or what?!?
