NAUGHTY Girl!

Mom and Dad bought a new pool for the little boys and gave their old one to us! this new pool is awesome!! it is big and round and blows up with air. did you know that if you bite it trying to get out (yup...I jumped in) it makes a hissing noise?
my mom was wondering what was taking me sooooo long when she let me out to go potty, so she went out to investigate...there I was standing outside the pool totally wet and she could see the top ring of the pool slowly deflating. holy crap! was she mad...she ran into the house and got dad. it took them awhile to find the hole I made...thank goodness they did, otherwise I would have REALLY been in trouble, especially if a 1000 gallons of water flooded the backyard!...they fixed the hole though and right away the next morning dad made a gate to go between the house and the shed. (little does he know that I can use my bouncin' skills and clear that nasty thing)...did I learn a valuable lesson...NOPE.....I jumped in there again yesterday only this time I was more careful.

the gate to the back of the house was left open.....Ooooooo!

Ok...so I am not suppose to go in the back of the house, but when someone leaves the gate open it is just too tempting not to go back there. so many different smells and things to get a hold of. Well I was back there for a bit and the guard cat came out! (that would be harley) man is he big!!!! mom says he is 27 pounds of pure tom cat. did you know when you get close to a cat they "puff" up and look bigger? well they do! he looked like he was 50 pounds! and did you know cats can growl kinda like a dog? yuppers, he did that too! well I just thought he wanted to play.....so I gave him my best puppy bow and wiggled my tail and gave a tiny 'woof"...that is all it took....all heck broke loose! I didn't think "fatboy" could move that fast....boy did he scare the crap outta me! I ran outta there soooo fast I cleared the gate in one jump!...never will I go back there again!

POOL!!!!

the weather has been so nice these last few days and we have been outside all day helping mom in the yard and guess what? she brought out the little boys pool! yup that's right the POOL!!! I ran away from mom as she was filling it, cuz I don't like the hose.....though kirby does...that dog is obsessed! but once the pool was filled I jumped right in and I started splashing...mom said I looked like I was digging to china!...bol then I got tired and layed down in the pool....aaaaaaahhhhhhh it felt so good I even flipped over to get the other side wet too....then something weird happened...I got out of the pool shook off and started runing around the yard like someone pressed my crazy button I then repeated the whole process until I was tired and needed a nap on the lawn chair.

I went for a walk with daddy yesterday!

this was the first time my dad took me for a walk (we went to look for Evan my big human brother who was playing at a neighbors). Guess what I met this other dog...his name is hunter and we are related!!!! he has the same mom and dad that I do...but not from the same litter...he is older. my dad said he always thought I looked more lab until I got next to hunter...then he saw how much german shorthair I have in me...cuz we look alot alike...cept he is bigger. I overheard my dad telling my mom that he was really proud of me ...cuz Ilistened for a change and came everytime he called me...even when I had fun playing and chasing hunter around his yard. we were gone a couple of hours and I just had a blast! Mom said it is a good thing that my dad is finally taking an interest in me and wanting to train me (she is the one who always does it for both me and kirby) and it takes a little pressure off her sometimes. the only problem is dad likes to chit chat with the neighbors while slamming down a couple brewski's and mom doesn't like that one bit! and she was mad at him....

what a beautiful day for a walk!

mom took me and kirby out to play today by the field with the frisbee. I am too little yet to beat kirby to the frisbee but mom said I did really good about retrieving it when kirby decided not to bring it back to her. I can't run free yet like kirby cuz, I am as mom put it, "not trustworthy" on call back yet, but I still get to run around a lot with the 30 ft training leash. she found out something else too...prong collars work well with me! they may look mean, but I don't pull on the leash and I walk really nice. beats being called a sled-dog when I go for a walk with my other collar on!...can you guess why I am called that....yup I can pull like there is no tommorow!
after we got done playing frisbee mom took us for a walk around town, she was sooooo proud of us. we walked side by side the entire way and I learned from kirby to sit whenever we got to an intersection, much to my mom's surprise. people wanted to come up and "pet the puppy" but were afraid of kirby! what is up with that? kirby is great big brother and he likes people too! I guess they are afraid of him cuz he is a german shepherd and can be aloof to strangers whereas me...welllll I just wiggle my butt like crazy...bol we are becoming quite a fixture down at the square that everybody says hi and tells my mom what good dogs we are...little do they know that I can rip to shreds anything and like to go counter cruisin' for goodies! BOL

what a beautiful day today

it was 45 degrees today and mom took me out for a walk...and this time I actually walked nice! we walked around the neighborhood and guess what? I saw these big ol birds flying in the air, mom calls them geese, I stopped what I was doing and looked in the air at all of them honking and went into a beautiful point (must be the GSP in me...bol) mom said it was picture perfect. when we got home she brought out the pheasant wings and had me in a sit/stay while she made a trail and then hid it. I found it and did anothe good point , though I guess I need to work on my retrieving skills cuz once I had it I ran around the yard like a nut and mom had to chase me down...guess I am gonna have a leash on the next time so I come back to her...BOL

Brrrrrrr....It is cold outside!

3 degrees and what is a poor dog to do? I think when I went outside to go potty this morning it froze before it even hit the ground!!! My mommy says I can't go out and play in the yard today cuz it is too cold and she is afraid my feet are gonna get frost bite....bummer. guess I'll have to destroy the house today and play with kirby.
Guess what?.....I went to the puppy doctor on Monday and I weigh 32 pounds! the doctor told my mom that I am gonna be a big girl...more of me to love I guess...bol and of course more to push kirby around with! I like to play tug-o-war with kirby and now I am getting big enough that I can actually drag him about 3 ft. before I get pooped out, and believe me that is no easy task, he weighs 90 ponds!
I have a new nickname too!.......daddy calls me bouncin' bela cuz I like to bounce around the livingroom going straight up and down...bol
this potty training thing is going really good too...finally according to mom. I haven't had an accident in 2 weeks...though I cna't seem to leave the little boys toys alone...I look at it this way...if ya leave 'em laying around they are mine!...gotta go...time for my breakfast! woooohooooo!!!

bath-time!

last night mom decided to give me a bath in the bathtub....wooohooo I had fun splashing water all over the place. my mom says I didn't really need a bath but she is bound and determined for me to get used to and like water! well.....I like it! the only part I didn't care for was when she brought out that noisy thing that shoots hot air.....got kinda scared, but after a bit it felt kinda good. I came running out of the bathroom lookin' all pretty and shiny, my dad said I looked like a baby seal my coat was so glossy. and then...........I went nuts, it was like someone pressed my crazy button and I started doing laps around the kitchen table...mom says it is the lab in me. though she has been noticing alot of GSP characteristics showing in my face. that's ok, I have the best of both breeds!...gotta run....I hear the neighbors dogs outside!

life seems to get more exciting.....

it has been awhile since I was able to post in my diary...you see mom told me that her laptop hard drive took a digger and she had to take it in to be fixed, so we are now on our 3rd hard drive and the computer is less than 1 yr old....technology! go figure.
anyway...alot has happened since I last posted. I have been living in my new home for 3 weeks now. mom is trying (key word there...bol) to get me crate trained. I make so much noise and whine soooooo loud it is driving her nuts! but that woman is persistant....she won't let me out. and this potty training thing isn't going so well either. I guess she is just used to kirby, mom said he was easy to train, must be the labradork in me...bol
oh and guess what? christmas trees are great! they have all these neat toys hanging from them!!!! yup you guessed it...I tipped the tree over and made a big mess and ate/chewed up about 8 ornaments so far. but when I get reprimanded I just look all sweet and wiggle my butt and that makes it all better...at least that is the way I see it. those styrofoam red apples are fun to chew too!
better go...time to go play with kirby. he is such a wuss for a german shepherd! I can beat the crap outta him, I just grap ahold of his neck and hang on. the other day I missed and grabbed his lip. he is shaking his head trying to get me off and it felt like I was on a rollercoaster ride, flying in the air like that!! he was whining and I was kinda growling. then he got kinda mean and pinned me to the ground with my whole head in his mouth, that was a weird feeling let me tell you!
now I really gotta go mom just brought out the big bone for us to chew on...wooohooooo

exploring....

I got to play out in my new yard today...it's not a big yard like my other place but it will do. the best part is, in my opinion, that we have a picket fence in the front and I fit through!!!! my mom wasn't pleased by that let me tell ya. she had to chase after me. so she made my dad put up these stupid slats so I can't get through...bummer.
Kirby and I are getting along great! last night we played for a long time. mom calls me a little stinker butt cuz I "attack" Kirby all the time...hey! he starts it!!!
he likes to play keep away with my squeeky ball and that makes me mad. so I show my teeth at him and growl. he then barks at me and slaps me with his paw...who does he think he is? my big brother or something? sheeshhh.
Oh and guess what? I got to meet this really furry thing that roams the house...it's called a cat I guess. her name is trixie and she doesn't like me yet so she hisses all the time. mom says that we have another furball and his name is harley...but I will never meet him cuz he doesn't like dogs and is mean to them. he stays in the back of the house behind the gate...wish I could go and check him out, but they won't let me. mom says he is way bigger than me and would attack me if I got too close.
I also went for a little walk down the road with my mom...I was scared at first and kept crying but mom encouraged me to keep going and I met some neighbors....they all liked me and kept asking my mom if she was crazy...hrrrummmph..what's that suppose to mean? just cuz she has 3 boys, 2 cats, dog and now a puppy....she has all the time in the world. and besides she is always picking up after the little boys...so what's another mess!
