the "I really NEED to go outside" maneuver, it's really the "I'm bored and want to play" game. The way she steals hearts.
Arrival Story:
I had just relocated and was feeling rather lonely after a break up. I thought I would see what the local shelter had for available dogs. My first trip, in the front room where the cats are held, led me to a small wire cage with the sweetest little hopeful face peering out. Annie extended her paw through the wires in a nonverbal cry for help. I knew right away that I was meant to save this dog and she was saving me, too. She was the victim of abuse and took awhile to oversome some of her fears. She still is very picky of which men she will allow near he, but in all, she's just a big loving baby. We've been best friends ever since.
Bio:
Annie has seen me through some rough days, sticking it out with me, being so loyal as she is. I am having a son by Csection on Nov 28th and Annie has been by my side this entire pregnancy, through the mood swings and late night snacks, she has been loyal protector and keeper of my baby belly. We have an understanding, she and I- this dog will always be my first baby.

Dear Diary,
I've always been Mama's #1 baby. I have noticed a certain swelling to her belly that I experienced back in my younger days. I am pretty sure she's growing a baby human in there. I make sure to bark to warn people who come too close to her and baby, and I cautiously enter the nursery, stepping politely around the baby's things.
But deep inside, I'm worried. Will Mama forget about me?? Will she still give me those chin scratches I love so much?? Will Daddy still make my stuffed bunny pretend to eat my food like we do every night?? Will I be replaced??
I don't think so, because I know how much I mean to Mama, and I love her more than life itself. But I hope this baby isn't competition for me. I'll probably love him and snuzzle him and protect him from strangers, too.
