Arrival Story:
Five years ago my first husband brought home a rat terrier. I went on line to do research about this new family member and found links to the AHT breed. I fell in love with the breed and knew the next puppy I got had to be an AHT. I had to wait until the time was right for another puppy. I had two sweet old lady chihuahuas that I didn't think would deal with a puppy very well. While I waited for the right time I researched breeders on line, histories of kennels and bloodlines.( and got rid of my first husband) A few years ago I found out from a vet tech during my rat terrier Chip's annual check up that there was a family with AHT in my own city. Up until then I thought the nearest breeders were either in central florida or central georgia. Come to find out these local AHT are trout creek kennel dogs. Meanwhile, quite by mistake, my new husband and I became the unwitting owner of two brother Shih Tzu's of my mom from Indiana. The old ladies got along with these new puppies better than I could have imagined so I decided not to put it off any longer. I had waited 5 years for the dog of my dreams so I put in for female pick of the next litter. Buck Naked and Nakkid Nikki became the proud parents of 2 girls and 4 boys in march 06. Three dogs had become six within just a few months. I got Lily just 2 months before I had to say good bye to my sweet old ladies. Their early lives were hard but once they came to live with me I was proud to give them a pampered, loving home in which they lived out there final years. Lily fits into our k9 4-pack as the little princess she is giving her 3 brothers hell every chance she can. Chip, Buddy, Buster and Lily, that's my 4-pack. The hairiest dogs and the hairless dog, all one big happy family.
