Birthday: November 15th 2001 Likes: I love to play with toys and show off in front of guests. Pet-Peeves: I like to tinkle on soft rugs in the house. Favorite Toy: My favorite toy is a baby beenie baby lion from a McDonalds 'Happy Meal'. Favorite Food: Hills Prescription Diet Favorite Walk: I love to visit grass patches in front of the house, we don't do long walks with 3inch legs. Best Tricks: My best trick is looking cute. Arrival Story: My miracle Short Stack, a runt from a litter of four, came into my life an early November morning. He has faced challenges from the minute he entered this world. Weighing less than a pound he suffers with a large open fontanel, hydrocephalic disorder, seizures, an underbite, malformed skull, and one decending testicle. With the veterinarian prediction of living less than six months I loved him as much as I could. November 2006, Shorty celebrated his fifth birthday. He has persevered, astonishing even the best of vets. At a mere two pounds, he radiates love and life. Although he looks a bit different and we get a lot of comments on his appearance, Shorty has no idea of his accomplishment. He thinks he is just like "the big dogs". A bit stubborn and of course he's spoiled, he has shown me even the smallest creations in life have BIG dreams. Touching the lives of many people, Shorty truly is a miracle. Hello everypup! Im doing even better. I have not had a seizure in three days on my new medication. I am also getting back to my old ways. Mommy was so impressed this morning that I barked from my cage to ask to go outside. I am acting spunky again and remembered where my toys are stored. I am still a little groggy but I think she was worried I may have some permanent neurological problems from my injury. I showed her though! I have not forgotten I am a miracle and I plan to live up to that honor.
Each time I have overcome something in life my mommy adds on another name. Well, this time she says better be my last scare and earned me the ultimate name in miracle in chi history. I am now known as- Itty Bitty Tiny Wienie Little Baby Shorty LUCKY, JOY, MIRACLE, "THE PHENOMENON"
I love all my Pup Pals and thank you for your thoughts. xoxo, Shorty
To all my loving Pup Pals. I am so thankful for your thoughts and prayers. I am home and recovering from my accident. I am working hard to get back to my old self with some new medications and the vet says I have to wear a sweater until I can maintain my body temperature normally.
I am moving a bit slower and need a little help getting around, but I am determined and getting stronger day by day.
Mommy is so elated to have me home. I am on her lap now as she has read me all my Pup Mail. She has been smothering me with kisses and lots of love.
I am still recovering and am hopeful to return to my old self. Thank you for your love and supporting my mommy in this time of need.
All my love, Shorty
Because it's Christmastime there are are changes to the rules. Each player needs to write a short note to Santa Paws and list 5 things on their Christmas list this year. Tagged dogs must post the rules in their diary and their letter with 5 requests. Then choose 5 pups to tag and list their names. Let them know by pawmail or rosette that they have been tagged and to read your diary for the instructions on how to play. AND... since it's Christmastime give them each 5 bones or treats.
My Letter:
Dear Santa Paws, this Christmas is very special. I may be little, but I have big dreams and maybe you can help make them come true. Mommy tends to spoil me all year round so I will enlist the big stuff to you.
My Christmas wishes include:
1. A wish for good health.
2. A wish for fun adventures in the new year.
3. A with to share my message of courage and touch the heart of another pup in need.
4. A wish for good food and treats.
5. A final wish for good homes to misplaced and lonely pups this season
With Love, Short Stack
