Looking for a Valentine, and That Means Daddy!

First off, I'd like to say Happy Valentines Day to all the pupples out there! Even though I've never really celebrated the day (the chocolate is too much!!) I find that having a day specifically to share the appreciation and love between friends and couples is really amazing! So even if I haven't made a habit out of spending this very special day with someone, I still enjoy it, and I hope you enjoy Valentines Day 2009 all you puppies out there!

In my seven (it'll be eight this April!) years of life, I've never had the ability to become close to any other canine because of the simple fact that I didn't live anywhere near any other dogs! When I was a pup, I had a really hard time being socialized because of my size, and the fact that any other dog would simply step on me. My owners refused to take me anywhere to socialize me out of fear of me getting hurt, and until recently I haven't been around any other dogs. I only have one doggy pal, and I rarely get to see him. When I was only a few years old, I was even forbidden to get anywhere near another animal because I had come down with a really bad respiratory infection that had been getting steadily worse and worse. But eventually, with some prayer and antibiotics, I got healthy and was able to play with my one doggy friend again. But recently, he hasn't been around, and I find myself lonlier and lonlier as my life passes by. I'm already beginning to get into my senior years, and to have a valentine that I can say was someone that I admire would be so amazing!

So I would LOVE to be Daddy's Valentine Day this year. I've always had an admiration for him and his work on Cesar's show, and in the amount of time that I've been watching him on the show, I've always aspired to be like him, calm and submissive. It's been quite a challenge because of my lack of socialization as a puppy, but I'm getting there slowly with the help of my owner! But I would still love to be Daddy's Valentine for 2009 because I love Daddy, plain and simple! He's gorgeous and definitely deserves a lot of love from all dogs around America!

I hope I can capture this very handsome dog's affection this year. :]

Long Time no Write!

Well well well, hello there, Dogster! It's been quite some time since my last entry. I seem to have forgotten that there was this nifty diary option here. So here I am, back and recording my day to day happenings. I'm here on the couch, chillaxin while my mommy types this up for me, it's been a rather slow morning so far. Though I have reason to believe that a walk is in store for me later on. (One can only hope!)

So yesterday I had some fun in the bathtub with my mommy and my aunt. They were trying to get me to get used to water. It was fun, I suppose. I'm still not uber crazy about water just yet though. Maybe with some time, it'll grow on me. Mommy says we're going to play in the bathtub tomorrow again. Maybe if I go swimming a lot, I'll learn to have fun in the water.

Anyways...time to go to sleep. Bye Dogster!

The Pole Vault!

So today when mommy came home, I did a little show for great grandma and grandma, showing off my new "over" and "under" tricks. But after I was in my spot all cozy and comfy and figured my day was over, in came mommy, and she took me out into the backyard. But this time she didn't just leave me by myself, but brought out my dog food and some books!

So I watched her set up something...using the mop and the books and sorta made some kind of jumping thing! It looked like fun! So then, mommy grabs a piece of food and makes me sit as I watch the treat. I tried to make a grab for it once or twice, but she got it out of my reach and took off towards the jumping thingy! So I ran after her. Because gosh-darnit! I wanted that treat! So when I got close to the jumping thingy there was nowhere to go but...over it!

"Over!" Mommy said when I got close enough. Then I jumped over it! She made me do it again to go back to the porch, and I did! She looked so happy!

We kept doing that for about half an hour until I got tired and started going AROUND the books instead of OVER them. So mommy decided it was time to stop.

She tells me what we did today was for "Uh jil uh tee." I dunno what that is, but so far, I like it!

Pet Co! Where the Pets Go!

WOW! My day was fun! Well, I woke up and I saw mommy, grandpa, grandma..auntie..everyone but great grandma leave this morning to do the things they do every week. I expected it to be a really boring day as usual. But later on as the sun got high in the sky, grandpa came home, which wasn't what he normally does. But anyways..He got me and my leash and took me outside. The first thing I thought was, "Oh, a midday walk! Fun!" But no..he took me inside the tan monster that he has in the front of mommy's house. I thought it was a mean monster..but instead, it didn't eat us. It let us sit inside of its tummy!

So then the monster started moving, but I was on the floor...so I couldn't see where we were going. But I heard a bunch of sounds and smelled a lot of things I've never heard or smelled before! It was neat! Then we stopped at this one place and grandpa took me out. We were at the groomers! I remembered going there a while back, and it wasn't the best trip..but okay. So we went in there, some people clipped my nails, and we were out in a jif. I didn't squirm too much this time! Which was good! So anyways then I came back home for about an hour, then we took another monster ride!

This time we went somewhere else, but with a lot of people and other monsters! I didn't know the people, so I was barking at them, making sure they didn't too close to grandpa. There were a lot of people like Mommy there! They looked about the same age...I wasn't sure though. But then...here comes mommy! She yells my name and I go running to her! She had another human with her too, but I didn't pay much attention. He left a few minutes later anyways. Then back into the monster we went, and drove to another place!

This place made me go crazy! It smelled so good and fresh and like food! There were other dogs there too! Like this one dog..It was short and fat...My mommy said it was a ..."Kor..gee". But I dunno. Anyways, we wandered about the place (which was Pet Co., as I later found out), and I saw so many different toys and food! My grandpa got me some bone shaped biscuts that smelled like bacon and cheese! They were in the bag though. So I was supposed to wait.

Then we got a bag of new toys! A shoe, a bone, a ball, and thing that looked like the metal things on the sidewalks. Anyways...Then we got some treats from a little bar! I got to eat one on the monster ride home..and the lady standing when grandpa was giving her paper for our stuff gave me one too!

So now I'm at home, nice and comfy with the taste of a yummy jelly bone in my mouth still. Ah....what a day. .

Gah the Noise!!

Urgh. I just woke up, mainly because of my human grandma coming into the pantry to kick the big white square that spits out the things that humans have on their bodies. I think..they call it "clothes" or something. But either way...grandma was kicking it. I wonder why? Maybe because it wouldn't listen to her. Hmm...Oh well. Now it's making noise again like it always does...can't it just be quiet and let me relax? Hm. Guess not. I guess it has to do its job like everything else in this world.

So I know my mommy's going to the football game (I kinda understand the point of the game now..) when the big line on the clock goes down to the bottom and when the little line goes on the left. Mommy calls it..."Nyn thertee." But I dunno what that means. Maybe I should find out later on..

So today, I hope to have a rather eventful day..But if grandma doesn't let us, then we can't go. :( Which would really bite! Because I really wanna go to the vet to see if something's wrong with me. Because if there's something really wrong, I don't wanna wait to find out. That way it can be fixed easily, and I'll be all better!

Woop. My grandma wants to put me outside for a little bit. I guess I'll head on out! This is Nina, signing out!

Fun In Store?

Okay so, I know now that my human grandma knows I need to go to the vet and go to the groomers. And maybe if I'm good, she'll let me go to PetsMart too! :) She knows that mommy wants to take me, but she kinda just laughed. I dunno if that's good or not.

We can't go first thing in the morning, though. My mommy has to go to her High School's game. Hopefully when she gets back from the "football" game, THEN she can take me to the vet and groomer. I don't look forward to those...but I really just want to go to PetsMart!! Sounds like lots of fun! I REEEALLLY hope grandma will let me!

Anyways...Not much else to say.

A Walk To Remember?

So I came back for a walk with my mom, but it was...distracting. There were people EVERYWHERE and there was even a boxer who was going to chase after me when we passed by this one house! It was a bit scary! I also started barking at this one lady who I didn't know...but she seemed nice. She was like, "Hi baby! How are you?" I kept barking until mom led me in the right direction with her foot. She kind of nudged me and I got the hint. So we kept on. Then there was this one time when I wanted to go into a yard! But mom kept tugging at my leash to get me back on the sidewalk. I had a bit of hard time breathing which kinda got me back on the right track, because that's uncomfortable! Mom had to carry me once or twice so I wouldn't get distracted!

Then when we were on our way home, I smelled something interesting and started to chew on it. Turns out it was another dog's poop! Gross! But I kept on chewing...I guess I didn't get the hint. She tried to get me to drop it, but I didn't listen and just growled at her. She looked at me with a mad mad face and eventually I got the hint. So I dropped the rest that I had in my mouth and we headed home.

My mommy led me through the gate and into the backyard. So yeah...Now I'm just relaxing. Hopefully mommy isn't still mad at me. And hopefully I can still go to Pets Mart tonight.

Pets Mart?!?!

So I heard talk that I might get to go to Pets Mart with mommy! Oh man, that'll be the best! But hopefully I won't bark at every dog I see! Wow! I'm excited. Mommy says maybe either later on tonight or tomorrow afternoon! Man..hopefully grandma will take us there! (And maybe the vet and the groomer.) Right now, I have no idea where they are...I heard talk they were going to a game..I love games, but I never heard of the one THEY were talking about. What was it? Oh yeah! Fo..Foo...Football. That's what it was. They woke up early this morning to go. My mommy's sister was talking to me about it too. Hm. Football. What a peculiar name for a game! Well...I guess anything with the word ball in it can't be all that bad!

Anyways, I'm really excited! I'll beg with my mommy so I can go to Pets Mart! I wanna pick out new toys and maybe a little bit of grooming supplies so mommy can keep my coat nice and shiny. (I still shed...But I guess that's normal for chihuahuas. BOL!) I also really need to get my nails clipped. Or get mommy to take me for walks more often to wear them down. They're really long right now and eventually they'll start to hurt if I don't.

On another note, there's a LOT of dogs around here getting pregnant and stuff...I see a lot of puppies everywhere and I hear them in backyards too! It's crazy really. I'm SO glad I got spayed! If not, I'm thinking our neighbors' dog Sport might try and have a go at me! BOL. He's cute, but not my type. Too fuzzy. So dogs, remember the words of Mr. Bob Barker (on that one show with the big wheel!), and have your mommies and daddies get you spayed or neutured unless you're a breeding or a show dog! Alright? Alright.

Ah...I love the Couch

So right now I'm laying on the couch next to my mommy. No one ever lets me up here except for her, which is why she's pretty darn cool. :) So we're watching T.V., waiting for mommy's grandma to bring us some tacos! Well...to bring mommy some tacos. I can't eat those. But I do love the way they smell!

Hey! She's here! Man those tacos smell goood! I wish I could get my paws on them...but I guess not. Oh well. I can dream, can't I? Maybe I'll get a treat later for being so good today! Mmm...bacon and cheese sounds like something I'd want! Hopefully my mommy can read my mind!

So I heard talk that I'd be taking a visit to the vet soon because of my breathing problem. I really hope it's nothing! I don't want to be sick like I was last time! The medicine I had to take was horrible! And I was all tired and I felt so bad! But I'm better now! And I really don't wanna go through all THAT again. :( So keep me in y'all's prayers, okay? I'd really appreciate it, and I know my mommy would too!

So today, I look forward to relaxation, and maybe playing something in the backyard with mommy! And also going for a walk maybe? But right now I'm just chillin and watchin cartoons with her while she eats her...breakfast? Or lunch? Cuz I saw her eating cereal earlier...Oh well! Food is food, I guess!
