Life on the Lake

I spend alot of my days swimming and chasing frogs....mom laughs when i am running around with the frogs legs hanging out of my mouth....I went on my first boat ride and it was scarey at first but once i relaxed i found i could look over the edge....Besides dad did all the work kind of like swimming but not getting wet....lol ....Mom will be posting new pictures of me soon...Boy is there lots of them...

Barney is home

Hi, It's Barney...I just got home from the doggie hospital and am suppose to be laying down....however I am so happy to be home that I can't seem to settle down....My 2 pup Buddies Bison and Buddy came over to greet me and I wanted to play so bad however dad rushed me in the house fast and mom brought me into the computer room and toold me I can't play with the guys for 10 days...Thats a bummer :(

Mom pulled a pig ear out of the freezer and gave it to me but I just put it on the floor and jumped up on the bed...Boy that hurt!

I can't get comfortable...how the heck do they think I am going to rest? I got people to see and tails to chase....come on guys I wanna go out and play :(....

Daddy dropped me off at the hospital and was supose to go to work in Illinois but he was there when I got out of the hospital...I hugged him lots and he kept telling me to settle down and I was a good boy....

Mommy said it was hard to sleep without me in the house....:) they missed me lots....

Well mommy said its nap time and so I think I will get up on the big bed and lay down with her and take a nap...I'm kinda liking this because I can sleep on the big bed in the spare bedroom....

In the doggie hospital

Well, today barney was dropped off for surgery...we are awaiting the phone call from the vet saying that all went fine and oddly this house is way to quiet without Barney running around barking and talking to us....
I am glad I am off from school until the 12th so I can be here to take care of Barney while he mends...

I will update and let everyone know how Barney is and keep everyone up to date as to his at home recovery....

I have never had a dog which was fixed but I am glad we went this route with Barney....

Update from Barney

I went back to see my doctor today and we scheduled my surgery....I go in on Friday March 2nd for my neutering...Mom says it works good for her as she will be on school break and can care for me....

I am up to 28.3 pounds and my doctor said I am 95% grown up...I also have no more puppy teeth...I do have hook worms though...So I am on medication for them....

My switch over on dog foods went well I prefer the Iams and showed mom by only eating the Iams out of my dish and leaving the puppy chow....

My doctor said that I should go on a 60 minute walk a day and it will build up my form for hunting...
Dad has been home for a couple of weeks now and he and I play alot....But he will be leaving again for Indiana or Illinois...glad winter is almost over so I can go on better walks in the woods...

Well I am off to my pup bed....

Barney the happy puppy

Dad called today and he is headed home in the morning...I miss him so much he has been gone since January 5th. Thats a long time for a pup to go without his daddy but its ok because I still have mommy...I like to sneak up in the bed and sleep in the bend of mommy's legs...We even sleep on the couch like that...I wonder if daddy will mind if I jump up in the bed and sleep with them? Mommy wasn't happy about it at first but I toldher that I miss daddy and so we cuddle together..

Well, this tired pup best get to bed soI can be wide awake when daddy pulls in...how long is 17 hours? Thats how long it will be before daddy walks in the door...

Barney the not so happy puppy

well i havent written anything for a while so i figured would let everyone know whats going on in my life...

Dad went to some place called Florida and he calls mom alot during the day and i can hear him when he calls he talks to me and i talk to him too...I think the man has lost it haha anyways he should be coming home soon he has been gone for a long time...

I go into the hospital on Friday to meet my doctor and get a bunch of shots and a check up then i can see how fat I am...then mom and the doctor will be scheduling my operation...I have to be fixed as mom calls it...all my pup pals around here are fixed and they walk normal but its scarey for me because i will be away from mom the whole night and she will be lonely because me or dad will be home with her...

anyways i have learned how to talk now...mom laughs at me because i dont bark like all my friends around the lake ... when mom decides to pay for dogster she will post a video she made of me talking to her...I like when mom laughs and i think they understand me too especially dad...cuz he talks to me more and more...

When i talk to mom she always says sorry barney but its too cold out for you to go on a long walk....she must kow i am asking her to take me into the woods...but even i know it is too cold because i go out do my thing and run back in to the warmth of the house...

I have also been doing alot of puking and so mom has cut out anything in my diet extra and put me on 2 cups of food a day...she said she is going to switch my foods and when she finally gets me soi dont have a stinky butt and puking up my food then i can have treats again...I know she is looking out for me but hey I gotta beg for it even if i know the answer is no...

mom said she thinks i am adhd because for no reason i will start barking at my foot then chew on it...but hey i am only doing it to make her laugh and tell me i am funny...

Mom is ready to lay down from my morning play session and i am a bit tired again...i dont think she likes it when i wake her up in the middle of the night to play...

Just call me Barney the Brat

Well, dad left to go do something mom calls work and he has been gone for to long now...I miss him because we would let mom sleep and get up at 6 am then dad would put me outside and make his coffee...after I went potty we would sit in the livingroom while dad drank his coffee then it was playtime...dad is funny and likes to chase me through the rooms or make me chase him...Mom tries but she isn't as fun...I try and let her sleep but hey when I gotta go I gotta go...She don't let me outside unless I am on my chain and I like when I am off my chain because I can run and make dad chase me...So I hate letting mom know that I have to go outside because of the chain...Then i can't hold it and I pee on the carpet....Mom keeps growling at me and saying she is going to feed me to the fishies if I don't start telling her I have to go outside....I think I will do that tomorrow...Right now I want my dad home so I want to be Barney the Brat...Mom brought up my human brother Eddie and told him to play with me so I would not miss dad so much....But hey dad is the man...Btw does anyone know where the red light comes from and then disappears too? I swear I see it and chase it but I can't catch it....then it goes away and I search for it but can't find it anywhere...must be a puppy fairy...

Well I am off to bark at the door its raining so if I go outside I can get wet and shake it all over when I come in...That is so fun...

Ummm this white stuff tastes good

2 days ago my backyard turned white...mom and dad call it snow...at first i stepped outside and my little paws got cold...I didn't like it much at first but then dad took me for a walk around in the woods and I had fun chasing the snow...so for the past 2 days I sit at the door waiting to run outside to play in the snow...mom and dad have to chase me around just to get me to come in then they put me on my chair and towel me off...ahhhh its the life...I love eating snow balls...then tonight my human brother came over and played with me, he brought along 2 girls who wanted to cuddle and pet me but I wanted to play...

Mom says I am getting bigger and I have about doubled in size...I know I am home to stay because dad keeps joking about how mom should have gotten him a monkey and is it too late to return me and mom looks at him funny and says nope we got Barney and he is staying...

Well, I am off to curl up next to dad on the couch and go to sleep we are tired from today's excitement..

My second day out in the woods

Today while me and dad were hanging out together he decided it was good to go out for another walk out in the woods...Dad even took my for a walk around the big lake and I got to meet other people...Our walk ended up taking 2 hours and are my paws tired but I like walking and playing in the woods...Then mom came home and I slept for a while...then her and dad ate dinner and dad laid on the floor and played with me...He even took me for a ride in the car...

Well this tire pup is off to puppy dreamland...
