We all had a super time at the Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue hike! We stayed at a lovely hotel room outside of Philadelphia and I had a bed all to myself!

We took a nice hike around Warminster Community Park, played some games, hung out with some noisy Huskies, and took Canine Good Citizenship tests.

Of course Mimi passed the test very easily. As for me, well, since it was outside, I wanted to mark everywhere. Thankfully the examiner was patient and understanding and I did pass. Whew!

I won 2nd place at the Musical Sit contest and got a lovely goody bag. Mimi won a drawing and got a Halloween costume.

Mom went out to breakfast with some volunteers from the hike before we left for home. On the way home we stopped off at Auntie Leslie's place, but I'll leave that telling to Mimi.

Awwww......

I am 9 years old today! Well, no one is sure when my woofday is exactly, but Mom picked this day out since she adopted me 8 years ago today.

Mom says she's going to take us out for a ride after she gets home from church. I think we'll be going to a dogpark. I don't care where we go as long as it's with Mom.

I also know that I have a woofday cookie. She bought it and I can smell it in the kitchen! I love sweet stuff so I can't wait to chomp down on that!

If you haven't read my adoption story, I was a real mess eight years ago. Abused and scared. Thanks to Mom and other peeps that have helped me along the way, I will now run up to you and smooch you all over!

Life is great!

Ruined Dinner Plans

Oh, that Mama of mine!! I rarely get mad at her, but today I did!! She ruined perfectly good dinner plans for all of us. I know Mimi would agree with me on this!

We were taking our usual walkie down the road, which bisects a farmer's field on one side and a forest on the other.

As we were approaching the field, Mimi perked up and saw a movement in the tall grass. I picked it up a mili-second later and started whining softly. Then, two large adult female deer jumped out of the grass on to the road! Mimi reared up like a bucking bronco and I cried louder, wagging my tail madly. The deer ran across the road and jumped into the forest.

We immediately pulled forward and demanded to investigate the incident. So, we pulled Mom forward and we saw the smooshed grass where the deer were laying. We then pulled Mom across the street to the forest. Naturally, we wanted to be let loose to track the deer, but Mom refused.

I started crying and Mimi argued with Mom, but it was not working. Mimi told Mom that we could surely catch these two large deer and bring them home for supper. It would be beneficial to all of us. Mimi reminded Mom that in this time of economic crisis, this would be free food for us all. What a money saver this would be!!

But, no good. Mom turned us around and we went home. I cried nearly the whole way, with Mom rolling her eyes.

Doggie Bandits!!

Yup, that's what we're being called! We had a fantastic day today and made out like bandits!!

First, we got up early and drove with Mom over to the school she works at. They were having a yard sale to support the Athletic Boosters. Mom bought a few little things, which were not very interesting for dogs. But, there were plenty of people and kids for me to smooch! I got lots of pets and hugs! O, Happy Day!

Then, the bad part. When were in to see Dr. Steve earlier in the week, we got our tests and shots. However, they ran out of the Kennel Cough vaccination. Think we would get off scott free??? NOPE!! Mom took us right in and we got that nasty shot up the schnoz! I was pretty good, but the Empress put up a nasty fuss. We both beat it out of the office as fast as we could!

The day got much better though! We headed to a local pet store called Gabby's Pet Depot. They had a play day with doggie games and lots of prizes. I easily won the popcorn eating contest and got a great goodie bag! We hung out with other vendors, pups, and the staff people at the pet store. We were there for a long time because Mom was waiting for the drawing.

Mom bought a few tickets for the drawing. She was hoping for a prize. One of the prizes she wanted for us was a huge basket of Merrick rawhides and chewies. The prize that she really wanted the most was a 3 pack box of Frontline Plus. Money is kinda tight right now with all of Mimi's recent medicines and tests, so if we won the Frontline Plus, it would really help Mom out a lot.

So, we sat and waited. And waited some more and more. Finally, we were the last ones there and they had the drawing. The vet on staff drew the tickets. The first drawing was for the Merrick basket and WE WON!!!! Mom was so happy for us and our tails were wagging for that lovely basket of chewies! The next drawing was for the Frontline Plus. The vet drew the ticket and smiled at us. Mom started jumping up and down and wooing!!! We looked at her like she was a nutcase.

So, off we went with all of our goodies and the staff at the pet store saying "Look at those doggie bandits! They really made out good!" But, it was also said that it was well deserved since we were such sweet and well behaved pups.

Yes, we will sleep well tonight. All of us.

It's Been Like This.....

I apologize on behalf of my whole family for not posting much. We've missed you all!

Mom's been struggling with getting over a sinus infection. She has a cough that's been keeping her up nights.

Then, the Empress decided to get mad at Mom for not taking us for walkies because she's been sick. She, in her infinite wisdom, decided to eat a doggie bag.

The next day, Mom came home from work to find Mimi covered in poo, along with her crate. She took the Empress outside for a bath and was her usual uncooperative self when bathed. Then she dragged the huge crate outside to clean and disinfect it.

Yesterday, Mom had a meeting yesterday to receive an award for some work she did in school. Again, she came home to a stinky, messy Mimi with bloody stools. Her crate wasn't as messy this time, but Mom had to clean it out again.

So Mom put Mimi on a fast last night. Between being woken up from coughing, she took Mimi out several times during the night to potty.

When she was driving home today, she prayed that God would heal her. Her prayers were answered!

She came home to a smiling Mimi! Mimi had no bathroom accidents and the crate was clean!

Mom's making some pumpkin and rice for Mimi to help calm her bowls, but I'm getting some too! It was pretty wonderful, we devoured it in no time!

I don't want Mimi and Mom to be sick anymore, hopefully both of them will get better soon.

Nurse Molly

*wearing a light blue surgical mask decorated with sparklies*

Mom says I've been an excellent nurse to her this weekend. She caught her 2nd sinus infection this year. Her school is over 50 years old and has a lot of mold in it. Believe me, if she didn't love her students and the staff she works with, she would have left a long time ago.

She's been sleeping and coughing a lot, which has been irritating to Mimi. However, I understood. I crawled up into bed with her. She put her head on my shoulder and rubbed my belly. It made me smile and her smile as well. Soon enough, I was snoozing and so was she.

Maybe we nursed each other?

OC St. Paddy's Day!

We took a lovely long drive to a place called Ocean City. It's a very pawpular place during the summer for hoomans to go to. It has a lovely boardwalk by the ocean and tons of shops. It is also the home of Maryland's 2nd largest St. Patrick Day's parade.

There were lots of nice people there giving out candy, beads, and other stuff. I got tons of pets and lovin's. It was kinda cold there. We walked quite a ways and I cooled off by panting. After stopping, I got the shivers and shakes. But, I stuck it out and am happy I did.

Mimi and I got royally decorated with all kinds of pretty beads. Gold, silver, white, purple, and green ones were all in abundance.

After the parade, we went back to the car and headed home. On the way, Mom heard a crunching noise in the back where I was laying down. She then saw I was crunching on some of the beads I got. She yelled at me and I stopped.

Mom can't figure out why in the world I would want to eat beads. I have no answer, except that I do have an iron clad stomach. I'm not telling.

We all got Jiffy Lubed!

I have to give a shout out to our local Jiffy Lube!!!

On our way home from a dog park outing, Mom dropped in on our local Jiffy Lube and asked for some work to be done on our mode of transportation.

Mom had us wait outside for a bit while the Jiffy Lube folks did their thing. After a bit, we were invited inside to the customer waiting room. There were no other customers there except for us.

We were pretty pooped, so we laid ourselves out on the tile floor. One by one, all of the workers came in to see us. I went belly up and got lots of lovely belly rubs. I was getting Jiffy Lubed by everyone in the shop!

Mimi also received her share of pets and plenty of compliments on her beauty and intelligence.

So, we all got our own different types of Jiffy Lubes. Mom just wishes hers was free as ours was.

What a day of gifts!

Oh my goodness, today was such a special day for me!

The first prezzie I got was Mom coming home from work early! The school she works at had to close for the afternoon. Some moron who was working on the new middle school next to Mom's school cut the cable for the Internet. The power had to be cut off to restore the Internet. So, Mom came home early! YAY!!!

Mom let us out of our crates and I immediately ran to the back patio. There was a big box that was delivered for me!!! I won a contest in the Second Bananas United group for the Spreading the Love contest! I couldn't believe it because Mom has been sooo busy and tired with work that I haven't been able to spread around as much love as I wanted to.

Anyhoo, I got a whole buncha yummies to eat! The cookies are so very yummy! I was in heaven!! I even kinda-sorta cooperated for piccys!

This made Mom just so very happy, because she knows that not only am I loved, but she's loved too. One of her students today reminded her that she is loved too. The student told Mom she looked awful. The student said Mom looked so very tired and that she looked like she could crawl on one of the classroom tables and fall asleep there. Mom was not at all mad at the student, but was very touched by her caring.

So, Mom was able to come home early to happy pups and was able to take a nap. She also rubbed my belly and gave me lots of kisses. That's a heavenly day for me!
