Adopt 08 Contest

Hi I am Ellie Mae and here is my story:

I was hit by car when I was little and roaming the streets. I was picked up my the doggy police and ended up in a kill shelter in Central CA. My family did not want me back because my injuries were so bad. I had no use of my back legs. Day after day at the shelter people would come but no one wanted me because I could not walk. I was very sad and in a lot of pain. I didn't get proper treatment for my injuries and my bones healed funny. On my very last day to be alive, an angel lady rescued me! The rescue group paid for me to have surgery. Although it was too late to make me perfect, the nice dogtor fixed my legs so I could walk and not be in pain. I can even run and jump a little bit! My new Mommy saw me on Petfinder and knew I was a special little girl so she adopted me. I still walk funny, but I am happy that I am not in pain anymore. My Mommy loves me just the way I am, she loves my funny walk.

Mommy says I am a special dog. Although I am handicapped, it doesn't get me down. I am so happy and silly and I love to play. I love to be loved and I love to cuddle. Mom says I put a smile on the face of everyone I meet.
