Arrival Story:
Gracie's parents did research choosing the kind of dog that would best suit their needs before getting Gracie. They drove a long distance to check out Gracie and her brother and sister. Gracie kept jumping up and down wanting to be picked!
Gracie was always with either mommy or daddy at all times growing up. Lots of training and very patient parents produced the best possible dog. Gracie plays hard, knows all of her toys by name, can say 'Mama', pays good attention, and is very sensitive to others.
Bio: This year Gracie has become a big support to our family as three members fight cancer. She is playful and fiesty or calm and understanding when Grandpa needs it. She seems to know when to run and get her toys. She also seems to know when someone doesn't feel good and will curl up with them quietly. Gracie is the best thing that could have happened to our familiy this year.
Gracie looks out the windows of the house all day guarding the neighborhood of squirrels, birds, other dogs, and of course.. the cats. Often times they come up to Gracie's window to say hello. This causes the windows to become very messy sometimes.
Gracie loves her beddy. She has different ones to choose from. She is a natural heat seeker and sun worshiper. She likes to watch television when a dog or cat in the scene. If her toy is put in a drawer or cupboard she will remind you she wants it by sitting in front of it and sniff or bark.
Gracie's favorite game is finding a ball somewhere in the living room that someone has hidden. It can be anywhere in the room, high or low, and she will sniff and search until found.
See Gracie say 'Mama"

My mouth seems to be healing pretty well. I now officially hate the vet.
The latest thing I have had to endure is going to the groomers. I immediately started to shake and wimper. Mom and dad told the groomer that my mouth was probably soar from having my teeth pulled recently. So be careful with my mouth.
My new cut looks so-so. I was totally shaved back in August so my hair is still short on my legs. But I look trim and cared for again. Mom loves it.
she says she recognizes me again.
I went to the dentist (vet) yesterday. I had my teeth cleaned. They called my mom while I was still being cleaned to tell me I needed 8 teeth pulled! Only one of the teeth was a 'needed' tooth for eating.
I am sore today. Dad is watching me while mom goes to work. I moan and whine a bit.
Mom feeling like an idiot for not cleaning my teeth regularly.
Mom is starting to whisper behind my back to others about me. Something about me looking older and less active. I think she is worried about me.
I want to tell her not to worry about me. I am fine. I am loved. I am a lucky to be a little grey dog in this house.
I rest a little more often. I'm only good for horse play a couple times a day less than usual. I have no complaints. I am loved and adored by you.
Don't get me wrong, I soak up the extra long hugs and lovies I get from you. I can never get enough massages and pats from you. Keep it up! Don't let that end.
But your sad eyes have seen enough in the last year. Please know that I am planning on being here with you for a long long time.
