Bailey's and Montana's HuMom here:
I just looked at the Chip In amount that was sent for Atticus's surgery. It said they only raised $1785 of the $6500 that was needed for his surgery. That is only 27% of $6500. They needed it by Nov. 4th and that is tomorrow. I am so worried this sweet pup won't be able to have the surgery to correct his severe spinal problem. He deserves to be a happy and healthy pup. I donated and I wish I could have given more. I wish more people felt the way I do. I know there are a lot of people out there that do not feel the same way as most dogster families do. A lot of people wouldn't even spend that amount of money on their own pets let alone somebody else's pet. Please take a look at Atticus's Dogster page. Check out the Southern German Shepherd Rescue's webpage. It has two videos of Atticus and they break my heart. Please help if you can. Please give this boy his miracle!

The name that has been given to me is Atticus. I am really the sweetest pup you will ever find. I have just had a rough start in my life. Please read my bio for my story.
So far I have found how wonderful life can be. I just love to play, but right now I have a really hard time just going out to potty. My back is hurt really bad. If I do not get treatment soon, I could become completely paralyzed.
I am so thankful for the kind humans that are trying their very best to help me. They have taken me to see the person they call the vet. I heard them say I need something called surgery. This will give me the chance at a normal pup life. I want to be normal like the other pups at my foster home. Right now, I have to stay inside all the time and just watch them out the window. This makes me cry!
I also heard my foster humans say this surgery is going to cost $6500.00.
I am not sure what this really means. I heard them say it is a lot of money and they must raise the money by Oct. 28. They said this is when I am scheduled to have this surgery thing done. I want it so bad. I want to be able to run and play like all my pals. Without it, this will never happen and I will start to get a lot of pain, then I will not be able to even go out for a potty break.
I am a pup with a lot of love to give and a very big heart! My foster humans tell me times are really bad for people right now. That it will be hard to get this thing they call money. If any of you out there has even a dollar to spare, will you please help them get this money?
Dogster has been so kind as to allow us to ask for your help. Without all you pups, I just do not know what I would or will do.
If you can find anything you can give to help me here is the way to do it.
You can send the money right to the place that will be doing my surgery:
NCSU-Vet Teaching School at NC State University
4700 Hillsborough Street
Ralieigh, NC 27606
Case #142791
Please be sure and give them this case # and tell them it is for me.
Or you can donate through the wonderful rescue that is trying hard to get me this money:
SOUTHERN CROSS GERMAN SHEPHERD RESCUE
Click on Special Needs at the top of the page. Then click on me. You will then see where to put your kind donations.
I will be ever so grateful for anything any of you pups can do.
No amount is to small!
Love to all!!

This is taken from my Mom's blog on MySpace.
Have you heard....Blue is missing!! I am broken hearted for this family and for Blue. I just can't imagine how devastated I would be if Montana or Bailey were missing. It would be the "not knowing" that would kill me. I look at Blue's picture daily to remind myself how lucky I am to have my sweet babies here with me and to remind myself that I need to help find him. I am sending bulletin's daily about him being missing. I hope everyone doesn't get sick of it. Oh well....they don't need to read it if they don't want to. I am hoping that my friends in MI will keep on the look out for Blue and to post this poster at all the vets in their area. That is the least WE can do to help find him and bring him home. Here is the website for Blue. http://whereisblue.com
Please help me find him!!!
Blue escaped from his owner's house in Brighton, MI on May 8, 2007, the night her father died. Over the months since Blue has disappeared, his owner has done everything she can think of to recover her beloved Siberian Husky. Sharon has done all the obvious and logical things she could think of to find her dog. She has posted ads, distributed tens of thousands of fliers, created and hung hundreds of bright, eye catching posters, checked animal control facilities, humane shelters and rescue organizations. She has used live traps in areas where she had received tips about a sighting.
INFORMATION:
Blue, a black and white Siberian Husky (4 year old male, brown eyes, microchipped) has been missing since May 8, 2007 from Brighton, MI.

Today my mommy found this big nasty bug on me. She said it was a tick. I am not sure where I picked it up but it was gross. Daddy wanted to take a look at it but I was a little nervous and peed on the carpet. Mommy said it was ok and petted me. Daddy got these shiny things called tweezers and pulled the big ugly bug out of me and then rubbed something cold on me to keep me from getting an infection.
If you get one of these ugly bugs called ticks....this is what your mommy or daddy should do:
The new, accepted, way to dislodge that tick is to go at it with sterilized tweezers. Assuming you have tweezers handy, swab them with alcohol or at the very least sterilize them over a flame. You will also want to try to swab the bite area with alcohol, but don’t smother the tick. AFTER the tweezers cool down, go at the tick more from the side, than the top. Try to get the tweezers between the skin and the tick's jaws, and gently pull, maybe moving the tweezer a little with a side-to-side motion if it isn’t budging. The main ingredient here is patience. A steady pull over a few minutes time, will usually tire out the tick enough to release its grip. Be gentle, yet firm. You don’t want to yank the tick’s body from his head and create a bigger problem. There are opposing opinions on what to do if this does happen. Some folks believe that you should pick the mouth parts out like a splinter, some say leave it in and your body will expel them on its own. If this does happen, I would suggest keeping the area clean and calling your health care provider for further instructions.
If you are out in the woods and don’t have a first aid kit with you, or tweezers at the very least, use a paper napkin, or whatever you have to cover your fingers while you try to gently dislodge the little traveler from his host. Make the point of pulling at the skin, not on the tick's body. Try not to crush the tick while pulling it out. If you don’t have a bottle or container you can seal it in for possible analyzation, crush it with something other than your fingers and then totally dispose of it. Ticks are very hard to kill, and they have a way of bouncing back to bite again.
