I herded cows!

I started learning how to herd cows last week. I did really well, and mom was very happy.

I guess I haven't posted for awhile, but I should also say that I got a herding title (PT) this past summer.

A week of herding with our new coach.

Mom and I just returned from a week long herding clinic with our new herding coach,Lynn Leach. She is awesome, and we have learned so much from her! Mom says I am doing things that she never thought I would do, but I knew I could do anything if I had it explained the right way. Mom is learning, too, and we are working on being a better team. We are entered in PT in a herding trial at the end of the month, and I am excited to show my stuff!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Well, I haven't written for a long time cuz mom has been hogging the computer, so I need to catch up! Tuesday was my birthday, so now I am one, but I still feel like a puppy. Last Saturday mom threw a party for me and my brothers, Angus and Draco. Saphire and my buddy Ruby came too. We had lots of fun! We ran around and played in the mud. We also played ball, and I tried to keep all of the balls, because I like to be chased. Mom made pupcakes and other doggy treats for us, they were really good! Angus' mom Michelle brought presents for us birthday kids-I got a dino cuz-and I love it!

On tuesday, mom and I went to the herding place. I got to play with my friend Maya while mom bottle-fed a baby lamb. Then mom and I spent a long time sitting next to the sheep in small pens. I guess this is supposed to make me be calm around the sheep, but I would rather chase them! Sooner on later I guess I will have to work the way mom wants me to, because I sure do want to keep working.

Tomorrow we go to the play place-I love it there!

A New Year and A New Place to Play

Mom and I went to a new place for me to play off-leash today. It was really cool! There was a big field and some woods with trails. There were even some llamas I could see through the fence. I remeber when I was little a llama scared me (I even peed on mom), but these ones didn't seem scary at all. There were supposed to be other dogs there to play, but nobody else showed up. I didn't really care cuz mom and I have the most fun anyway. I hope we go back soon!

The Scary Storm

Two nights ago we had a very scary storm. It rained really hard and the wind was blowing all night! I was scared, but I tried to be brave and not say too much. After the storm was over, I noticed that it was getting really cold in our house, and the lights didn't work. Mom said the power was out. All of these unusual happenings made me feel really uncomfortable. I guess I was kind of jumpy, but I didn't know what to do. Tonight the power is back on and things are getting back to normal.

Herding again! Yeah!

Yesterday we went to practice herding sheep again. At first, I had a hard time paying attention, but later I worked really well. I was calm and I drove the sheep around the arena without circling too much. I love the sheep! I also got to play with Myah, and that was fun! When we got home, mom fell down the stairs. It was scary, but I was good and I stayed calm and tried to help her.

This past sunday we started a new advanced obedience/rally class. I'm the youngest dog by far, but mom says I'm doing really well!

There also was a different teacher filling in in our agility class, and I liked her sooo much better than the regular lady. Next time, we'll try to take classes with the new lady.

Here sheep! Heeere sheeep!

Yesterday I went down to packleader farms to practice herding with Toni. I love those sheep! I was a little distracted so I had a hard time today. Sometimes that happens when you're a puppy. We are going to go back next week, and I know I will do better. Mom and I are practicing out, away to me, and go by. We also do there, down, and back (but I'm already good at those).

Today we went to the fun run at Great Dog. I love running around and wrestling with all of my buddies.

Tomorrow mom and I start a new class, Advanced Obedience and Rally. After class, we get to go play at Grandma's house, oh boy!

My First Snow!

This week I got to learn about snow. It snowed on Sunday, and then again on Monday. I had so much fun running and sliding around! Something about it just made me so happy. Of course, I'm usually pretty happy. I also liked putting my nose down in the snow and tasting it. It made everything smell and look different. The only thing I didn't like was the way the kids in the neighborhood screamed while they played. It made me afraid that something was wrong, so I had to bark when I heard the screaming. Now most of the snow is melted, but I hope it snows again soon.

A Busy Sunday

Today mom and I were sooo busy! We got up early and got ready to go to obedience class. I did really well in class, I didn't bark hardly at all and I paid attention so I got lots of treats. We worked on finishes, drop on recall, and figure 8s. I'm almost ready to do some 8s off lead, but it's so hard because I'm just a puppy.

Next we went to grandma's house and I got to run in her big yard. I played will the giant red ball until I accidentally made it bounce into the neighbor's yard. Hopefully, they give it back.

Later, we went to agility class. We just practiced the stuff that I already know. I like to learn new stuff! I wanted to join the other class, because they looked like they were having more fun, but I guess I need to practice more first.

When we went home, I was ready to play a little more. Mom and I played with the soccer ball for awhile, then I was ready for a nap, and so was mom. After my nap I had a cow trachea, yummy!
