Arrival Story:
Mom and Dad were cat people... Just cats... All of the sudden Mom started talking about dogs... Dad just went along with the flow not thinking she was serious. She heard about a yorkie rescue that were being evaluated at our local shelter and went down to check them out. There I was in my kennel the day that I came out of my 7 day foster evaluation. I wasn't a yorkie, but she thought my little black nose was cute sticking through the chain link fence. She also said I was the only one not making a sound. I sure fooled her!!!!!! She took me outside on lead and I ran around her like I was crazy. She thought to sit down on the ground and I launched into her lap, flipped over to show her my belly and kissed her. She fell in love right then and there. I had long, curly hair and was listed as a poodle cross. Our friend and groomer found the Schnauzer under it all. She took me on a hike the very first day I came home and she realized that I do have the cutest schnauzer butt in the world. I'm sure that I would have been adopted if she hadn't found me, but I'm sure glad she did.

Bio:
Duncan is brilliant in every manner. He is my heart and soul and the reason that four other dogs live with us. Duncan has reached the Masters level in Agility and on June 23, 2007 earned his Championship. He then went to Nationals and took one of only seven perfect scores and his standard championship. He is an amazing little dog and has taught us that dogs can fill places in a home and a heart.

Happy 15 Barkdays to ME!!!!!

Hey dogs! Today I turn the mighty 15. I'm old and lumpy, but I'm doing pretty well. Mom holds me and rubs my belly a lot and she tucks me into bed every night and covers me with my special rock star blanket from Tater Tot. I'm a little slower, a little hard of hearing and losing some of my site, but I can still pluck a tennis ball out of mid air and roam around our yard. I'm getting along with the new guy in the pack and am happy that he's a gentle soul. All it all it's been a good year. I even have run a few little games in agility when we are indoors and the lighting is good. I sort of walk the courses now, but the cheering is amazing every time I get on course. It's quite fun, but mom says I have to really retire now because it gets me too wound up and last time she thought I was going to keel over after the run. Oh well, I'm good with cheering the pack on and resting in my crate with Doolin and Dev. Remember to love your old dogs. We are amazing! Oh, and thank you to all my furiends for the good wishes and pressies today! You guys rock!

Peace out,
The Highlander Duncan MacCleod

I'm doing just fine thank you very much!

Well, with all the drama of the past month, I'm about wiped out. First I get taken out in the back yard by my 30 pound galloot of a brudder (quite by accident and he really didn't mean it) and end up going to the dogtor for some pain meds. First they have to do bloodwork because I'm old and they want to make sure I can take it. They find my liver numbers were off the chart and the kidneys weren't good either. Off to the E-Vet for an ultrasound where they find a mass on the back of my liver. It's in a good place to operate, so good news! Next week and a follow up ultrasound and now the mass is all through the liver and just make me comfortable, there is nothing they can do... BAD news... Dad paid for a biopsy just to make sure and it comes back as a benign mass that will not change or impede my life in any way!!!! GOOD NEWS!!!!! So, I had a little kidney infection that I had to take meds for, but I'm doing great all things considered. Thanks to all my furiends who inquired about me. Mom is thrilled that she gets to cuddle me for some time to come and she does it all the time. I still boss Deacon around and love to snuggle with Doolin. Life is still good...

Wow, I showed up tonight and Maddie's furmily had baked a huge barkday cake for me! I had all sorts of pressies from furiends too. What a nice way to celebrate 14 years of being alive. I have spent over 13 of those years with mom and dad and I'm a pretty lucky pup. Mom tucks me into my bucket bed every night and covers me with my rock star blanket the Tot sent to me years ago. I have the best food and a great yard and a brother or two that loves me. My pack is pretty good to me, though Dori can be loud and bossy, but all in all it's pretty nice. I still get to compete and I guess it's about the same as a 90 year-old human running sprints, but I still love it. Mom is willing to pay the entry as long as I want to play. I think that's pretty cool. I hope all of our furiends out there have a long and happy life like me. Mom says she's the lucky one, but I have to disagree.

Peace out,
Duncan MacLeod Corley
