Likes:
Squirty Girl just loves to hang out with the MamaDog (me). She is not happy unless she is on my lap (she's on my lap as I type this)

Pet-Peeves:
She is terrified of thunderstorms and fireworks, she is not a "morning dog", believe it or not, she is very crabby in the morning. She curls her lip when you shake a finger at her for being bad - shame on the Squirty Girl : )

Favorite Toy:
She likes all toys as long as they are not made out of rubber

Favorite Food:
Squirt will eat anything... She really loves whipped cream in the can, she comes running as soon as I shake the can.

Favorite Walk:
She loves to go for walks around the neighborhood.

Best Tricks:
Squirt doesn't know any tricks but she has me very well trained. Cesar Millan (Dog Whisperer) would be very disappointed with me.

Arrival Story:
My husband & I drove almost 2 hours to LOOK at a Shih-Tzu puppy. This was going to be our first puppy together and after doing research on the internet, we decided that this was the breed for us. We wanted a female but the breeder did not have any females available, she said that she had 1 male Shih-Tzu puppy. He was only a few weeks old and was not ready leave it's mother. She also mentioned that she had a 7 week old female puppy we could look at so we would know what the male puppy would look like after a couple of weeks. She said that the female was not for sale - that she was keeping her. When we got to the house, the owner pointed to a box sitting in the garage. When I walked up and looked in, there was a tiny fuzz ball just standing there. I said to my husband, LOOK - this puppy is soooo cute. Upon hearing my voice, the puppy was trying to wag her tail and instead wagged her entire body. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life - the next thing I new I was standing there holding this tiny little female puppy and I started to cry. I think after seeing my reaction to the puppy and knowing that we wanted a female, the woman knew that there was no way I was going to settle for the male. My husband was over talking to the owner - I have NO idea what they were talking about because I was too busy holding the puppy & crying. The next thing I knew my husband was paying her cash & we were leaving her house with the female. It only took us a couple of hours to figure out what we would name her. She was sitting on the computer desk next to my can of Pepsi - she was sooo tiny, she was shorter than the can of pop. My husband came into the room, saw the puppy next to the can of Pepsi & started laughing because she was so little. I said "I know, she's just a little Squirt" "that's it! let's call her Squirt". I love this dog more than anything in this world. I am so obsessed with her that it not only worries my husband - but it really scares me too. It's not healthy to love her as much as I do. I live and breathe for her. My biggest joke (only it's not a joke) is that my husband hits the pavement long before she does - He knows it and he is okay with it - lol. I LOVE YOU SQUIRTY GIRL - YOU ARE MY BEST FRIEND!!!

There are places i'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends i still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life i've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When i think of love as something new
Though i know i'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know i'll often stop and think about them
In my life i love you more

Though i know i'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know i'll often stop and think about them
In my life i love you more
In my life i love you more

I LOVE YOU SQUIRTY. Thank you for giving me the BEST 12 years of my life.

Squirt lost her battle with cancer on Sunday, July 12, 2009. She put up an incredible fight and lived 14 months when she was only expected to live 3-4 months after her surgery. She was my best friend and the love of my life. My life will never be the same.

I just can't stand it! I'm losing my best friend and there is nothing I can do about it! She means more to me than anything in this world! I love her and I don't know what I'm going to do without her! I scream and cry but it isn't changing anything. I'm dying inside and when she goes, so will the biggest part of me. She is my version of a child. She is the only child I will ever know. I taught her how to bark and go up and down the stairs. She loves to be brushed and have her hair in a top knot. Loves wearing her little Lands End coat and Coach collar. She litterally thought she was human until we brought Molly home.

She's been on my lap for the last 10 years. She's always told me when it was time to eat, sleep, play. She would bark every time my husband and I would hug if we didn't pick her up and include her in it. There isn't a day in the last 10 years of my life that I didn't sing songs about her. Every song on the radio was changed to include Squirty. She's on my lap as I type this - it's always been the two of us. It's just you and me Squirty, just you and me.

I love you Squirty, you are the baby dog
and you're so purty, the Mama's little hog
the Momma loves you Squirty, Momma love you...(Frankie Valli - Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You)

Baby Dog, Baby Dog, Baby Dog
The Mama loves the baby dog
The Mama loves her girl
the Mama loves the baby dog
the sweetest girl in all the world...(Queen - Bicycle Race)

You're probably reading this and wondering why this crazy lady is babbling on like an idiot. I'm trying to feel better. I don't know what else to do. I haven't stopped crying since I heard the news and I don't expect to stop crying for a very long time. She is my life.
