Arrival Story: Petfinder.com!!!! I'm a "Schnack" or so my mom says. That is half Jack Russell, half Schnauzer. I was in Bradford County Humane Society in Ulster PA for at least a week when Mom found me. I wasn't in good condition and had chewed lots of fur off. The nice lady at the shelter thought that they might be a good match for me, knowing about terrier mutts and how they might act. She asked them to drive 7 hours from NH with my dog brothers to check me out. When they finally met me they almost decided to drive back without me!!!! I was really stressed when they brought me out and I tried to bite dad twice. I pulled at the end of my leash like I was going to run away at any minute. Mom got the idea to bring Duncan out of the truck to meet me and my attitude changed immediately. Hey! A brother!!!!! I was so excited I let them pat me and put on a new collar and I tried to jump up into the back seat of the truck before the paperwork was done. The ride back was wonderful and I slept on Duncan's butt the whole way with a smile on my face. My fur has grown back and mom says I'm a smile waiting to happen. I love this forever home, but Duffy still doesn't think I'm quite worth keeping yet. I hope he changes his mind soon...
Bio: Since Doolin joined our family, he has learned so much. He is now obedience trained (and still working on it) and has advanced quickly up through the ranks of competition agility. He loves the sport and is sooooo good at it. I swear he smiles when he is running. Mostly he is a laugh waiting to happen.

Hey pups! We went to a USDAA trial in Manchester NH at All Dogs Gym this weekend and I rocked the house. Yesterday I took my first ever Masters Standard Q, a Super Q in Masters Snooker, and a Q in Steeplechase. Today I took a Masters Jumpers Q, fourth place in Steeplechase and a Masters Snooker Q. Yup, I rocked the USDAA house! Mom was all happy cause tomorrow is her barkday and she thought I did it all for her, but I did it cause it's FUN! You should see my mom when we do well. It's pretty hysterical. She gets all crazy and leaky and huggy. It really is GREAT! OH! and today she came in to the trial and there was a present from Mulligan's pawrents. She bought mom a beautiful silver necklace from the Animal Rescue Site that has three rings on it and one says "My Best Friend Rescued Me". How cool is that??? We love Mulligan and his pawrents. They ROCK!
Peace out,
Doolin Kingsley
Masters dog extraordinaire (except for Gamblers.... Stinking Gamblers...)
OMD! Can you believe it? SR voted me Schnauzer of the week and I'm very honored. Long, long ago I was SOTW when SR was very new and it was a great privilege. Back then mom was thrilled that they picked a mix to represent them for SOTW. Throughout SR's long history we know that they have welcomed many Schnauzer mixes and even some dogs that have no Schnauzer in them at all! What a cool group! I want to thank Milly and all the administrators of SR for this and I will try to uphold my duties throughout my reign.... BOL! No, really, I'm gonna make sure that my pack knows that I rule this week. Yup, I'm the king of the back yard and I'm gonna flaunt this for as long as I can! Wooo Hoooooo!
*Ahem...*
Peace,
Doolin Kingsley
Schnauzers Rule Schnauzer Of The Week 9/20/09
We had an agility meet in Westford, MA this weekend and the weather was PERFECT! Sunny and warm, but cool in the shade. This place is a really nice trial site. It's the 4-H camp down there with loads of trees and places to keep cool. We had our Snooker run this morning and mom found a really good course for me that no one else was trying. She walked waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out to the other end of the ring and then called me and I ran straight to her without taking any other equipment and off we went. We were all the way through our run to the very last obstacle when the buzzer sounded. It was GREAT! When the results came out we found out that we had taken FIRST AND SUPER Q! We beat some pretty amazing teams to get there and mom was very happy. Loads of treats and snuggling right after the run and even more after the results!!!!! Now I only need one more for my higher title, but I need a load of other stuff beyond Snooker, so it will be a long time until we see that ribbon.
On another note, mom and Duncan have been trying for one last standard run and on Saturday they had a really fast, very accurate run, but mom lifted her arm ever so slightly while Duncan was in the weaves and he read it as "pop out and come over here" and that was the end of the Q. The run was still wonderful and she was VERY happy with the old pup. Today they had a GREAT run and everything went perfect. It was fast and clean, but the standard course time was so tight that they missed it by 1.5 seconds!!!! Mom was still thrilled with his run and she made sure he knew it.
She ran Dad's dogs today too because he wasn't feeling well, so she's pretty wiped out tonight. Time for bed now for all of us. Good thing she has tomorrow off!
