Arrival Story:
Umm, I found her int he want ad digest as a 5 month old and she turned out to be seven, I was also told that she was up to date on her shots, but that turned out to be only what she had before she left her breeder, which is a whole nother story. This dog was a disaster when I found her, she hated people, she hated me and pretty much anything unfamiliar, not too far off the beaten track for an Akita, but she seemed traumatized. The people who had her had stolen her from someone who kept her (allegedly) in a crate with an adult Rottweiler for her first 3 months away from her breeder. So I told these people that since she was 2 months older than they had said that I would only pay them $250.00 for her which the mother responded that is ok, we need the money anyways, as the daughter bawled her eyes out and their brand new $1500.00 Corgi puppy from the pet store down the road. So after that was all set, the women handed me the vet records and dragged the dog out to my car. When I got home later that night I had a petrified dog who wouldnt get out of the car or into my apartment and once I did get her in I found out that she had absolutly no shots. Whooo...well by 7am the next day evidentally Sasha realized she wasn't going back to the dump hole I took her from and warmed up to me and now she is up my butt 24/7. We have tackled a lot in the time I have had her, she is finally getting over her fear of people, men in baseball caps in particular...hmm, think the dad of that family did anything horrible to her?? She has learned basic commands and best of all she has learned how to play!! So Sasha has really become a fantastic dog and I am so happy to have her.
