Birthday: May 12th 2000 Likes: My precious tennis ball, stealing treats from my sister Lily, sleeping in the bed, getting into alot of mischief, getting lovies from my mommy, and making Beagley noises just like Snoopy! Pet-Peeves: When I have to get out of bed. I love to be buried under the covers and hate to get up in the morning. I don't like my kennel or flax oil. I hate thunderstorms , I hide in the tub. Lily not giving up her treats beacuse she teases me with them! Favorite Toy: Again, my precious tennis ball, or a roll of toilet paper in need of a good shredding. Favorite Food: I am part Beagley so anything I can fit in my mouth. Mommy switched us to Innova Evo and we like it. It has helped my itchy tummy! Favorite Walk: Anywhere there is grass I can sniff and trees I can wee on. Best Tricks: I can play dead, I have a slow "death" scene, I can speak, sit, lie down and roll over too. Arrival Story: My story, as told by Roscoe:
My daddy got me for my mommy's 21st birthday. I came 2 days before she had to put her beloved kitty, Taffy, to sleep. He was 12 and very sick. My mommy was very sad, but I helped her through it. Mommy was not expecting me at all. I was 1 of 5 puppies in my litter. Three girls and two boys. I was the cutest puppy and was not going to be given away, but my daddy convinced the owners to part with me. Boy am I glad because I love my mommy and daddy. It was just me for a while, then we got my sister Lily. She really helped calm me down. I got into all sorts of trouble before Lily came to live with us! We are best friends and cannot be separated. I am getting a bit grumpy as I get older but that's okay Mommy says, she still loves me just the same. I will be 8 this May 12th, I have the same birthday as my Papa! Bio: I was born without a tail and I love to wag my little nub. My mommy says I am a handsome boy and I am also too smart for my own good. We love to have company, especially our Nanny and Papa and their dog Jennie. My mommy calls me a Beagle/Jack Russell "Terror" mix, but she loves me no matter what! Forums Motto: Roscoe - I'm all boy! Regarding recent comments made by a certain Whoopi Goldberg in reference to Michael Vick and his barbaric murdering of dogs:
I was born in Atlanta, raised in a small town in TN, I have lived in Charlotte, NC and currently reside in Knoxville. I have no clue why someone would think that dogfighting is part of “Southern Culture.” Grits and okra, definitely, but dogfighting? It is heartless and barbaric. I hope that no one else has that ignorant perception of the south or it’s inhabitants. Everyone is so quick to point a finger at “culture”, instead of taking responsibility for what they know is wrong. Mr. Vick, I certainly hope you have repented. As for Ms. Goldberg, perhaps she should spend more time in the real south, the one where we love and protect our animals, not murder them.
Hello Dogsters!
It has been a while since I barked a new entry. Mommy and Daddy decided that they needed a vacation so they sent us to prison, er, the kennel for 10 whole days! Can you believe that??? We even had to get baths today before we left. No stinky pups coming home Mommy said. Oh well. It wasn't so bad. I was Lily's little body guard. The vet told Mommy that I wouldn't let any other dog near her. Shhhhh, don't tell Mommy, but I just love my sis and didn't want to have anyone mess with her. We also had to get our annual vaccinations and boy does my bummy hurt! The vet said that we were very healthy. Yay!!!
Not much else is really exciting in Roscoeland. Mommy is getting a new car tomorrow. Something with a light interior or something she said. I don't know, maybe it's the pup hair she wants to hide. Daddy picked out a "surprise" car for her last year. He got one with a dark gray interior and our hair is just everywhere. Mommy can't take it anymore so she's going to go get something else. Poor Daddy, he's always doing something nice for us and Mommy. I just love my Daddy. Maybe we can go for more car rides in the new car! ^_^
It has finally cooled off here in Knoxville. It was so hot for weeks and weeks! Mommy was so worried about us because my brother from my litter, Hunter, died of a heat stroke several years ago. His owner was doing yard work and he just collapsed. Mommy was so upset when she found out about Hunter.
Mommy kept huge bowls of fresh water everywhere. We even got a huge bowl of ice everyday too. I just love ice. I like to chase it all around on the linoleum and then let it melt on the carpet. Mommy isn't so fond of my game though. Humph!
Well Mommy is going to get her camera from Nanny's house tomorrow and take new pictures to post. So be on the lookout in the coming days.
Lovies to my pup pals and everyone have a safe and happy Labor Day Weekend!!!
