Boy, I really thought I KNEW how to sit!!

I told you 2 weeks ago that I have recently started a training class. Really Mommy tells me she and Daddy are in the training class and I am just thier practice partner! Maybe so...

Last night I learned how to sit! I have been sitting on command for more than 6 and 1/2 years now!! I learned it last night all over again! I had to humor my folks ya know?! I AM learning the hand signal for sit, a different one than what Mommy uses, so maybe I can learn a little bit.

You should have seen my little brother, River!! I thought he and Mommy were going to have to take remedial dog training and then start this class all over again!! River was VERY stubborn about sitting!! Then suddenly his gears clicked and the light bulb came on!! Since he looks like me it is okay to tell you how cute and proud he looked when he figured out what Mommy wanted him to do!!

Then the horror of all horrors!! We were walking out of the store and someone thought RIVER was MY BABY!! Shudder at that thought!! I don't do puppies!! Kittens any day, but you can just KEEP the puppies!! Daddy explained that we were only related by adoption, and River was only in the family because he looks like me! Everyone who learned that we are not related was just stunned at how much we look alike!! I explained to River that Diego and I get that all the time! I wonder what it will be like now with a MINI ME in the mix!!

I think I like my little brother, but you can't let HIM know that!!

You put me in WHAT class!?

Umm, okay so here I am nearly 7 years old. I have lived here since April of 2001. Mommy decided *I* suddenly need to go through a TRAINING class!? Um yeah! Okay Mommy, whatever you say!

I am the old lady in the class with a bunch of PUPPIES!! To be fair, Mommy is taking me through it with River, just so she and Daddy can be better prepared to handle dogs like Fenrir and Max in the furture. I GUESS I am doing a good deed by being their GUINEA PIG, but STILL.....PUPPIES!!

So, tonight I learned my name!! BOL!! Hey, did you know it is Sandy by the way!?!!? Good thing I finally learned that, eh?! Who knows what I have been answering to all these years!!

My green striped rawhide candy cane...

Mmmmmm, this hting is sure yummy!! Mommy doesn't give us rawhide very often, Diego and I fight over it too much! Imagine my surprise and delight when she whipped out some candy canes Santa left for us!! wooohoooo!!

I really like to take my time and enjoy my rawhide. You know, get all the flavor and chewiness possible out of it! This is why Diego and I fight over the stuff!! The boy woofs his rawhide down so fast I don't think he even tastes it, let alone enjoys it!! So once his is gone, he stalks me, just waiting for me to put my rawhide down!

So tonight, I really have to work on this candy cane! Diego and Ginger are BOTH done with their rawhides! That Ginger is crazy! I think she swallowed her candy cane rawhide in about 4 bites!


Okay, gotta get back to the chewing now! I don't want to fall asleep and have my treat stolen!! Mmmmmmmmm......

I have a new friend

mommy and Daddy and Diego and I picked up adog named Ginger on Saturday. When I first met her I could hardly believe that Mommy and Daddy could POSSIBLY even THINK about bringing home another girl dog, even IF it was only going to be for a few days!! I was forced to show this Ginger girl that I am the alpha female dog, and that she will NOT be allowed to even think about messing with me.

Then I started to play with Ginger and I realized that Ginger is a pretty cool dog friend to have! We ran all around her back yard for a few more minutes while Mommy and Daddy talked to Ginger's mommy. We all piled into the car and off we went home. Ginger told you all about our trip home in her diary, so I won't bore you here with those details.

Well, we got home, and once again I had to set up some guide rules with Ginger. OH MAN!! Mommy and Daddy have figured me out! Almost before I could let it be known that I do not allow new dogs to eat from our food dish, Daddy had fixed Ginger her OWN bowl!! MAN, they take all the fun out of being alpha female dog!!

Well, there was nothing left to do but play with Ginger and have fun! But boy I did take every opportunity I could get to tell Ginger she couldn't eat teh food!! if she much as LOOKED at the bowl I growled and snarled, and then I crouched in front of it to keep her away!

Since Diego doesn't care much for the cold and rain, Ginger and I have been to the dog park together twice, while teh boys stayed home and stayed dry and warm. They really are whimps!

So, today we found out for sure that Ginger will be staying here for awhile. I have decided that since she is so cool, she can eat out of the big food bowl. Mommy told me she was really happy and proud about that, it shows that I accept Ginger!

I wish Ginger could stay with us forever and ever, but Mommy says no. She says that 4 dogs is just way too much. Hmmm, maybe we could rehome.......No, he wouldn't like anyone there either!!

I just hope Mommy and Daddy don't get the insane idea that this means they can bring in female dogs now! I won't go for that!! Ginger is special, that' s all!! Oh, did you notice that Ginger matches me and Diego!? We look like triplets!!

Went to see Santa today!!

Today I went to see Santa. It was SOOO COOL!! I have never actually gotten to see him AND sit on his lap! I even got to tell him what I want for Christmas!! It was SOOO EXCITING!! I even got my picture taken with Santa, well Diego is in the picture too, but HEY, it is SANTA!! YAY!!

I can't wait to tell you if I got everything I asked for!!

Time at the dog park

Today Mommy and Daddy took us to the dog park. It was SO much fun! I love meeting new dogs almost as much as meeting new people!! At first I got to run and play with some smaller dogs. After awhile Mommy noticed there were some bigger dogs in the other part of the park, so Daddy took me and Diego over there and Mommy stayed with Charger.

I got to run and romp and jump and be just goofy. It was a BLAST!! I can not wait until the new dog park up the street opens up!! WOOOHOOO!!!

I had the BESTEST time playing with Heffner this morning!!

When Mommy AND Daddy got up and took us outside, I KNEW something was up. When we all got in the car, well I was so excited! I was nervouse too though, we have never gotten up so early to go anywhere in the CAR!! We stopped in the middle of nowhere and got out of the car. I wasn't concerned because Mommy and Daddy were both there.

Then I saw Heff!! Boy was I super duper excited about that!! After we said hello and all that, we started playing. I loved every minute of it, even getting in trouble for chasing a man walking by was fun!! Heff and I ran and splashed in the puddles, and we explored.

Heff and I sampled some of the water, and well Diego, I think it is a acquired taste! It was wet was about all I can say! I decided I would wait until I got home to our nice clean water to take any more drinks!!

Tomorrow morning, Mommy and Daddy are taking me to play with my friend Heffner!! It has been a long time since I have played with any other dogs, not since they closed the dog park in Bethany! I am so excited!!

I hope Mommy or Daddy remembers the camera and I can share with you all!!

It's about dog time!

My name is Sandy, and I am almost 6 years old. I have 2 canine brothers, 2 feline sisters, and FOUR feline babies. My youngest brother has his own blog, and my babies have their own blog, but Mom has been lax about me and my brother, Diego! We are here now though, so here it goes!!

I had a nice family when moved away from my canine mommy, but they ust really didn't know how to handle me and my wild side. You see, my mommy s a purebred Golden retreiver, and my daddy is a wild coyote. I take after both of them when the mood strikes, but my sweet side is always there. I just needed to be taught how to be a calmer more gentle dog.

I was 4 months old when I moved in with my family I have now. They had a dog, Maria Doggie, who was very old and sometimes not so nice to me. She did teach me a lot about being a sweet dog, and in turn I got her up playing a few times. I love Maria Doggie, and I miss her very much. When Maria Doggie went to Heaven, Mommy and Daddy adopted me a puppy, Sabrina.

Sabrina and I got along okay, though Sabrina was a little on the mean side. Sabrina only lived with us for a year, whch made me very sad. You see, we lived in San Diego then, October of 2003, and there was a great big fire. Mommy was told she had to leave the house, so she took me and Sabrina to a friend's house where we would be safe. We somehow got out of the yard, and we have not heard from Sabrina since. I was lost too for 3 whole days! Mommy came and found me at the pound, where I was in quarantine for being so mean to the people there. I couldn't help it, I was scared!! Once Mommy found me, I HAD to apologize to everyone and show them all what a great dog I am!! At this point, we think Sabrina has found a new home. She is microchipped, and registered, and no one has reportedly seen her. I just hope she is happy!

With Sabrina gone, I was very sad, I would mope around the house and sleep in Sabrina's spots. Mommy decided I needed a friend, so she and Daddy adopted a cat named Wookie. Wookie was great, just not a dog friend. Mommy brought home a kitten, Zelda, in May of 2004, and love Zelda to pieces! In July of 2004, maybe August, Frankie arrived. Frankie is Zelda's littermate, and we took her in because her family felt they couldn't take care of her.

In January of 2005, Mommy and Daddy were at the animal shelter in San Diego, renewing my license. Because the paperwork was slow to process, Mommy and Daddy decided to wander through the place and visit all the lonely dogs there. About 1/3 of the way through, they happened upon my now brother, Diego. Diego got to come home with Mommy and Daddy JUST because he looks A LOT like me!! Mommy says she couldn't leave him there, she would have had dreams of ME living there! That scares me too, so I am really glad Diego moved in!! Oh, by the way, I LOVE DIEGO!!

Everything was good, then in August of 2005, Mommy and Daddy left one afternoon and returned wth 2 tiny little babies. They tell me they are kittens, but I ust know I had to love them and take care of them!! 5 days later, the kittens mommy left their brother abandoned, and he came to live with us as well. These are my babies, and I take very good care of them. I am such a good mommy, that my mommy got me one more kitten a few weeks ago. This kitten, Meisha, well it took her 3 or 4 days to realize I am not a mean doggie and I won't hurt her. Mommy and I have decided that 4 babies for me is perfect.

My youngest brother, Charger, came to live wth us in September. Charger is a long hair Chihuahua, and all attitude. Mommy and Daddy got him so he and Diego could run around. I got the kittens, Diego got a dog.

Did you notice my brothers and I are named Sandy, Diego, and Charger!? Yes, it was on purpose. Mommy is a Padres fan, but Charger was a better name for my brother.
