We ran across Naina at the Peninsula Humane Society in San Mateo, CA. Daddy DID NOT want her, thinking she was too timid. Mommy persuaded her to persuade Daddy, and after 3 weeks of working hard to win him over, became the love of his life. Name in pound was Maggie. Despite Daddy's objections, we adopted her the day we met her.

Bio:
imagined family history: Dad=Malvolio, a rogue husky. Mom=Sandy, a beautiful blonde golden. Malvolio left for a pack of smokes & never came back after knocking Sandy up. 6 pups in litter, all w/both ears down except for Naina. Bully of the bunch was Gunther. Best buddy of the bunch was Jerry. Naina wandered off to play and got lost in East Palo Alto, where she was picked up by the dogcatcher and shuttled off to PHS.

I am so freakin' exhausted after this past weekend! I visited Carmel with my family and my little sister bothered the heck out of me the whole time. I liked the hotel (the Cypress Inn, owned by animal lover Doris Day, pets welcome throughout the hotel), but since the kid and I were in the same room at all times, I could not escape her and her pinches and fur grabs and tail pulls.

I hardly got to rest. On Friday, my parents' 10th wedding anniversary, they took the little one to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. They left me in the car (in a parking deck with the windows cracked open, of course!) for about 3.5 hours, so I got some shut-eye then. But Saturday, we were out and about the WHOLE DAY!!! I could hardly keep my eyes open that evening! I didn't sleep much on the way home on Sunday, so yesterday was my catch-up day.

Today my mom went to Fremont to get the Beastmobile serviced. She felt terribly guilty about leaving me, and was considering bringing me along so we could walk for an hour and a half while we waited for my car. However, she decided that it would probably be best for me to stay at home for a few hours, and that I'd just sleep and not feel so bad about being left behind. I was glad when she and my little sister came back, but just to show them that I don't care too much, I didn't jump up to greet them.

I think I'll go outside and snooze and bask in the sun for a while.
