Likes: Playing ball, tormenting his sister, sleeping on the sofa, herding goats.

Pet-Peeves: If anyone gets attention besides him, he gets very upset.

Favorite Toy: Any ball to play with, although he can't catch, he loves trying!

Favorite Walk: To the barn to feed the horses and goats.

Best Tricks: Jumping off of or over anything, including people, furniture and porches.

Arrival Story: Dally came from a small farm in Caldwell, Idaho. He was from a huge litter of puppies, and he learned at a very early age to be aggressive. He is stubborn and definitely gets upset if he doesn't get his own way. He is the first Blue Heeler we've ever had that has a tail. We think his tail gives him exceptional acrobatic ability. The first day we brought him home, he leaped off of the porch, which is pretty high, into a flower garden and had absolutely no fear as to where he would land. He tried chasing wild turkeys when he was just a few months old, but they were so much bigger then he was, they just laughed at him. We really have to watch him if we take him outside without a leash because he will chase deer, quail, goats, rabbits, pretty much anything that is moving. He can't understand why he can't catch a flying bird, but he certainly tries!

Bio: Dally's parents, Daisey May and Levi Strauss, are working dogs on a horse farm in Caldwell. Most of his brothers and sisters have gone to local ranches and work for a living. Dally pretty much works at being spoiled! His middle name is "Jo" after his brother, Joey, who passed away a year before Dally was born.
Dally was diagnosed with an incurable brain disease (Ceroid Lipofuscinosis) in June 2007. He tried his best to hang in there for his family, but unfortunately, even the best neurologist at WSU Veterinary Hospital in Pullman, WA, Dr. Dan Hicks, couldn't do anything for our precious Dally. He was put to sleep the morning of July 2, 2007. His legacy is that hopefully the studies done by the hospital will help save other wonderful Australian Cattle Dogs in the future. We miss him more than life - he was our little angel. Go with God, our Dear Boy. Your Mommy and Daddy and sister, Darby, and brother, Rusty, love you very much. We will see you on the Rainbow Bridge. "If Love Could Have Saved You, You Would Have Lived Forever".
