Birthday: July 31st 2001 Likes: wrestling with her Snoopy, eating, being loved on,back scratches Pet-Peeves: She doesn't like to get her nails cut or the garden hose Favorite Toy: Squeaky killer whale toy Favorite Food: Milk bone dog treats Favorite Walk: anywhere Best Tricks: opening the cupboard to help herself to dog treats Arrival Story: We got Abigail at the end of January 2006. The people who are my dads wife's daugter had mated her once & sold all the puppies for a very good profit except one. Now Abigail seemed to be a inconvenience after 4 years with them & they we're moving so they were going to take her & the father Great dane Prince & there 1 remaining puppy a 5 month female to the pound since there was no avaible buyers. I was disgusted with how these people were doing these beautiful dogs. My boyfirend & I went & met the dogs. The poor dogs were damn near starving. Prince was jumping up to the kitchen sink faucet trying to get drips of water. My step sister let me have all 3 danes. They were all very under weight. I fostered them until I could find them loving homes but kept Abigail she wasn't so trusting to some strangers but now if she meets strangers and is properly introduced she's fine & sweet as can be. Bio: Abigail is a smart girl. All my boy danes took to her especially my black dane Calub he fell head over heels for her & would stick up for her. Abigail fell for Calub & they loved to cuddle. Sadly Calub died a year later from cancer. Now she best pal with Calubs brother Snoopy.
She loves hugs, kisses, car rides & playing with her Great dane siblings outside especially Snoopy. Abigail still has alot energy especially for a Great dane going on 7 years in July 2008. She is great with my 4 year old daughter. She still needs work walking on the leash considering her previous owners never took her for walks.
Abigail is a smart girl...I think she might of been a squirrel in her other life because she likes to stock up her treats under the sofa or behind it. She keeps coming right back for treats(smoked pig ears) & for a while I was thinking "Boi is she eating them really fast" , until I walked in the other room behind her and sawl what the big squirrel was doing. :D Forums Motto: I'm part squirrel The Groups I'm In: *¨¨*DOGGIE CONNECTION*¨¨*, Buckeye Danes, Febreze® Pet Odor Eliminator™, For the Love of Danes & other Large/Giant Breeds, Great Dane Gathering, Great Dane Rescue, Great Danes Are The Best, Great Danes Rock !!!!, Great Danes Unite!!!, Loving Great Danes

Since taking Abigail to the vet for her swollen paw we haven't been keeping a close eye on it to see if it swells again. So far it has been fine so hopefully it was nothing serious. :)
I've had Abigail for little over a year now and this is the third time her paw has swollen. She won't walk on it & squeaked when I try look at her paw. The first couple times the vet gave her some antibotics & predinisone. Her paw went down back within the first couple days using the medicine but this third time after the predinisone wears off she starts limping on the paw. The paw hasn't swollen back up. The vet examined it again but could not see nothing visually wrong with it.
