Arrival Story:
When my Mommy came to get me, I was very sick, but she didn't know that until she got me home. She had to feed me medicine all the time and watch me during the night so I wouldn't die for a couple weeks! I was only 1 pound and 9 weeks old when my Mommy saved me and now I'm happy, healthy, and just full of love! I love my Mommy!

A Day in the Life

I'm walking!!!

April 28th 2007 7:49 pm   [link to this entry]

Hey, everyone! I know ya'll know about my disk rupture a couple months ago. Guess what? I'm walking and running now! I kinda look like I've had two six packs too many as I'm a little wobbly, but I'm walking! My balance gets better and better each day! My Mommy Sherry has worked with me in the tub some and she's also been giving me Longevity and C-Complex, special supplements from Springtime Inc.. She also switched me to Blue dogfood from the Blue Buffalo Company.

What I think helped most, though, is all the prayers from my great friends at Dogster and everyone else. Thank you all for praying for me to get better!

I love all ya'll!

Hugs and kisses,
Jazzy

Ow! My aching back!

March 10th 2007 6:25 pm   [link to this entry]

Well, as you can tell from my title, something's happened with my back. Last Thursday, March 1st, I ruptured a disk in my back! Mommy rushed me to the vet when she saw I couldn't stand after I got up. They did an x-ray, and sure enough, the disk had ruptured. Don't know what caused it, but it did. The vet said I had to have surgery immediately or else I would be paralyzed, but he couldn't do the surgery.

So, Mommy had to drive like a bat out of Hades to a surgeon 50 miles away that was highly recommended. He did a mileogram and said it was bad. They did surgery, then called Mommy and told her that I might not make it! Poor Mommy was so upset!

Well, I showed them! Mommy called the next day and the vet said he was surprised, but I was holding my own. They wanted to keep me in the hospital over the weekend, so Mommy came down and spent several hours with me each day, talking to me and praying for me. I was pretty doped up, but at least I could sleep when Mommy was there because she brought my blankie.

Monday, I got to go home. I can't walk, which sucks! My back legs don't work right now, but I am going to work really hard and Mommy's going to do therapy with me in hopes they come back. In the meantime, she bought me a Walkabout harness so I can at least move about once my back feels a little better, which was a day or so ago. Man, can I move with that harness on!

Since I've been home, I've barked my head off at the cat, told Grady to stay the heck away from me and my food (he hovers!), and tried to convince Mommy to let me sleep in the bed again. She won't do it, darn it! She makes me sleep in a crate, but I understand it's for my own good so I can heal and not get hurt again.

So, all you wieners out there, if your Mommy and Daddy don't have vet pet insurance, I highly suggest you get it! Mommy didn't have it and the surgery came to almost $3,000! Upfront, too! If you have vet pet insurance, they would have covered almost $2,000 of it. Oh, well, as Mommy said, hindsight's twenty-twenty. Not sure what the heck that means, but it sounds good. :)

Anyway, when you guys say prayers, please say a prayer for me that my back heals and I get to run again! Lying in bed or walking in that harness sucks the big one!

Until later, wieners!

Love,
Jazzy

It's my birthday!

January 20th 2007 12:38 pm   [link to this entry]

Hey, ya'll! It's my birthday! I'm four years old today! Hard to believe I'm actually four. I wonder what I'll get for my birthday?

Momma said she might cook me something special. I'm hoping it's turkey! But then again, I don't care. Just so long as it's not something nasty like sauerkraut. I like the hot dogs, but not the kraut! Maybe she'll make pancakes with peanut butter! Yum!

Well, Christmas has come and gone and I got some cool presents. Mostly treats and stuff. I asked Momma if I could have my own Ez-bake oven, but she said I'd burn the house down. I can't imagine why! Not like it was that big of a deal when I tried cookin' hotdogs over the furnace!

Ya'll, I gotta go. I hear Grady barkin' at something, so I'd better go see what it is!

I love ya'll!

Love,
Jazzy

P.S. Don't forget to check out my greeting cards! I am the star of my Mommy's Sherry's pet greeting cards at TylerDog Cards. She has all kinds of greeting cards designed with me in them!
