Arrival Story:
Animal Control. Fu was considered unadoptable because he resented being stared at by onlookers and of course he was guarding his personal space like chows are supposed to do...For me, I knew this meant that he could still be a great dog so I took a chance and have been rewarded every day since. Bio:
Fu is one BIG BOY...101 pounds of serious CHOW!! Fu had an untreated leg injury from his previous life (before he came to us)--which sadly has contributed to his weith gain as he can't stand or walk long. Fu walks with a funny limp, and is a low thyroid chow. When we adopted him, he had almost no hair due to that, but has been on a very low dose of thyroxine for over 3 years now---and his hair still hasn't stopped growing back. UPDATE: On July 2nd, 2007 We lost our beloved Fu. He was undergoing cancer treatment for stage 5 lymphoma and pneumonia is what actually took him. The Sires inspiration lives on however, and we continue the work dedicated to him and the thousands of other chows like him in need today....Please join us and RESCUE!
