Quick Bio:
-pound dog

Birthday:
March 4th 2005

Likes:
companionship...she has a touch of separation anxiety.

Pet-Peeves:
Our WONDERFUL mail man. He really is the greatest mail carrier in the world, but since our mail box is right at the front door, Winnie thinks he is an intruder. We are working on their relationship. :)

Favorite Toy:
pink long dog toy (the one from the petsmart commercial), and her adopted sister, Millie. She is pretty sure Millie came her just to play with her.

Favorite Food:
She likes to steal beef tenderloin. When she isn't theiving, she likes chicken thighs and necks, ground beef, ground turkey, carrots, yogurt, eggs, and will tolerate celery as long as it is mixed in.

Favorite Walk:
She LOVES the duck park! We don't get to go too often anymore, so it is a real treat when we do.

Best Tricks:
she "sits pretty", knows her left from right, and can tell you what she thinks.

Arrival Story:
Winnie was a pound puppy that had been surrendered to the "end of the road" shelter for Houston pets. She could see the smoke stacks from her kennel. We saw her and fell in love instantly. She has turned out to be the best dog anyone could ever hope for. I cannot imagine how anyone could take her there.

Bio:
We got the DNA results back! Winnie is mostly Basset Hound with trace amounts of BERNESE MOUNTAIN DOG and CHOW! Can you believe that? The shelter said she was a Basset/Lab, the vet said she was a Basset/Beagle, Beagle Breeders said she looked Beagley, and as it turns out, she is FAR from it. Goes to show that there is a lot more going on in a dog than just physical traits. Wow... Who'd a thunk it? :)

Forums Motto:
Is it dinner time, please? -Winnie

Camping is Super Awesome!

Hi Pup Pals! I haven't been keeping up with my diary lately, partly because I have been having so much fun! Millie and I get to go to work with our Mama most days, and this summer we went on our first camping trip! We went to the piney woods of east Texas. You would not BELIEVE how many wonderful things there were to smell! It was a hound dog's paradise. We even went swimming for the first time. I'm pretty good at it too! Millie didn't like it too much, but at least she knows she can do it now. We got eats all kinds of yummy food and bugs. We can't wait to go again! I highly recommend camping to all pups!

Love,
Winnie Please

Well, I caved. I am back in my place on the bed. I just couldn't take sleeping on the couch any more! And you know what? I do like that mattress afterall. I wake up in the morning with Momma to get breakfast, but then its back to bed for me! Pops has even caught me back in bed when he gets home for work... I guess I was too quick to judge.

I tell them that I want a puppy, and what do I get?

Poppa bought a new mattress for our bedroom, and I hate it! Beware of the memory foam! It is not dog friendly. I have never felt something so disturbing under my paws. Momma and Poppa sleep like puppies, but I am protesting by sleeping on the couch. The only problem is that they don't seem to mind at all! I'm hoping Momma will eventually get tired of having cold toes since I'm not there to warm them up. Maybe then they'll give me my mattress back.
