Favorite Toy:
Chalice will retrieve a ball about 4 times before becoming bored, this is an exceptional feat of "I may actually be a dog" for a basenji.
Favorite Food:
Greenies, rib eye steak bones, beer caps.
Favorite Walk:
McCarren Dog Run ... tho something of a rabble rouser, Chalice likes to make trouble then go human lap jumping.
Best Tricks:
Looking angelic in her sleep, and Chalice will actually sit for treats.
Arrival Story:
V-day 2002, part 1: After much preparation and planning for a canine companion to join our home [finding a pet OK apt in NYC taking 8 mos. alone!], we decided to actually adopt our dog on Valentine's Day, and awaited the day. Meanwhile, we researched breeds, decided on the traits that would best compliment our own, and made the MONUMENTAL commitment to raising a pup if one were available, perhaps two, if we could get two at once. So when V-day came around, I got all the pet supplies we would need, found a vet and I excitedly called the shelter. I asked all the adoption questions, downloaded the form, readied the paperwork, and asked the ASPCA shelter "How late are you open." They said, "Until 10pm." When we got there at 7pm they said, "Yes, we are open until 10pm, but you can only adopt until 6pm." We were heart broken.[Part 2, continued on Malice's page.]

Good Lord,
The crazy blonde she-human that feeds me created a website for me last night and sent a link to her enormous email list. I feel so silly. At least she generates a lot of heat at night to snuggle up in.
